I worked at Catapult Technology full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I had an amazing manager and maintained good relationships with several employees. the benefits were quite good.

    Cons

The changes in management over the years dramatically changed the culture - from pretty positive to downright cutthroat. The firm that acquired Caatapult really didn't put any effort into growing the management consulting side of the business. Instead, it continued to push the culture into it's downward spirial.

    Advice to Management

Besides being honest & upfront with your employees, ask them for help and direction. I am not sure what else to suggest as I really have nothing to do with the company since it was bought. A sad day.

I worked at Catapult Technology full-time

    Pros

Pay remained the same which was better than average for this city.

    Cons

Zero delivery after many promises. They "closed the sale" yet seemed to have no intention of making improvements despite having a non-IT contract with same agency for at least several years. Worst female manager I've had who threw her subs under the bus on regular occasion. Disconnected, irresponsible management at all levels, and like last company made it clear we were on the lowest of low end even though they basked in our hard work & huge efforts to satisfy a nearly impossible to please customer. Endless, endless, endless email and communication mgmt. and very little tech work.

    Advice to Management

Focus on doing your job and learning about your clients, not letting IT techs manage it for you. BTW the intro meeting was laughable, I don't care about your pets, kids, military service nor hobbies.

    Pros

    Cons

They have been merged into another company. Contract firm, you work only as long as there is work for you.

I worked at Catapult Technology full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good benefits, had plenty of contracts to work on.

    Cons

Didn't offer the opportunity to work on another contract unless you were in some type supervisor/managerial role. Salary was on the low end, no market comparisons. Didn't know how or care to keep talented and faithful employees.

    Advice to Management

Not sure who this would appeal to so it might not be worth it.

I have been working at Catapult Technology as a contractor

    Pros

Catapult will provide you the tools you need to be successful in your career, you just need to use them. If you are a good employee and have proven yourself, they bend over backwards to ensure that you remain one of their employees, even if they have to move you to another contract if the contract you are currently on is going to expire and not be renewed.

    Cons

Contract work is difficult and unfortunately when you are placed in a work area sometimes it is difficult to move up; you may get added responsibilities, however, unlike working in a corporate environment, it can sometimes be hard to progress, regardless of continuing education.

    Advice to Management

When taking on new contracts, look at your employee database and take into consideration the qualifications that they list; some employees have the qualifications for you to hire them for the new contract from within which will benefit you by having proven dedicated and competent employees on the new contract, which will make you look even better to the new customer, and will also give your employee a chance to expand his experience and feel as if he is truly appreciated and recognized by their employer.

I worked at Catapult Technology full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The health insurance benefits were decent.

    Cons

Senior management was aloof and didn't communicate with any of the lower level staff.
    Salary levels are below market
    Disorganization and lack of vision
Lack of employee development (education reimbursement was often denied because of it not being related to the specific job title)
    Constant threat of termination

    Advice to Management

Communicate with employees and make them feel like they are part something more than just their job. Treat people with respect and as a peer, and not like an expendable asset.

I worked at Catapult Technology full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Coworkers are easy to get along with; the C-suite is very accessible to employees.

    Cons

No growth opportunities; salaries not at industry standards; very little experience outside of direct technology consulting -- this is not a management consulting firm.

    Advice to Management

Develop a proposals department that will shift the business development work off of the day-to-day management consultant teams.

I have had a positive experience at Catapult Technology and I believe the company is on an up slope following their acquisition by DC Capital Partners.

    Cons

I hope the company would be more willing to promote from within.
