I worked at Cathay Pacific full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good amount of vacation days + floating holidays to start with, can truly enjoy life well travel with great travel benefits

    Cons

Nothing much for CONS. Wish CX keep growing to achieve best airline again! Do not keep cut promote LEAN (cut budget).

    Advice to Management

Management may consider care more about front line staffs and listen to their feedbacks. Happy employees = happy company

I have been working at Cathay Pacific full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Flexible schedules and long layovers. Outport base only has one route so flight times are consistent

    Cons

Cathay Pacific pays significantly lower than any other airlines outside. If you're outport base, you will only fly one route to Hong Kong. Company has been cutting more and more every year. Company culture is a bit hard to work with if you are more Americanized (Probably better to go with United, Delta or AA). Benefits are very expensive compared to other airlines.

    Advice to Management

Please take care of your crew before they are upset and have to fight for what they deserve.

I have been working at Cathay Pacific full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Nice roster (2-4 flight a month) and many day off, good for people who has kids to take care at home or who has second job.

    Cons

Stop contributing Social security tax and medicare tax for employees, so that mean no pension when you retire. Just average pay.

    Advice to Management

Should treat outport base and hong kong base staff equally, regarding to allowance, percentage of increased salary.

I have been working at Cathay Pacific full-time

    Pros

    good allowance at layovers.

    Cons

low pay and tough working conditions. crews are graded by their section leader each and every flight and other crew "shoe-shine" their section leader to get better scores even when they don't do their jobs correctly. Section leaders can be lazy leaving all the work load to the crews below them.. unfair heirarchy and culture.

    Advice to Management

get rid of the CPP system. better pay.

I worked at Cathay Pacific part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Set roster every month with minimum reserve days

    Cons

Low pay, Bad culture, Terrible staff and management, Seniors would bully juniors in many ways, Doesn't care about employees, Hires people who aren't capable to do the job

There are many airlines out there with better benefits, pay and culture don't waste your time here unless you have family in hong kong and want to visit them every week

    Advice to Management

Stop saying service straight from the heart and the company is a family when management doesnt treat employees the same way that they do to passengers and care more for your employees

I have been working at Cathay Pacific full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

flying benefit so can "purchase" cheaper ticket to travel, maximine 9 dyas off in a row but minimum 1 day off between the flight.

    Cons

there are lots of airline to work with! if you work for cathay the only thing good is if you have family in Hong kong and you want to visit them every single week, coz thats pretty much the only place that you are able to fly to . Terrible management only have 3 staff in the base office lack of communication and not efficient nor professional when handling crew related stuff.
Terrible company cultural with bad seniors would actually bully juniors in many ways. especially Japanese and Filipino crews; think twice if you really consider to join. I am being very very honest.

    Advice to Management

pay attention to those who actually the hard working and good employees please, you will lose all the good one soon!!!
