I worked at Cathedral Energy full-time for more than a year

    Pros

They are working on having proprietary technology with both EM and Pulse which could separate them from other base line companies. Remained busy for awhile but then dropped off with no communication from management.

    Cons

Lack of communication between management and field personnel. Lack of work No standard on how to attain promotions to higher levels from MWD 1 to 5 which goes back to lack of communication

    Advice to Management

Work on communicating with field personnel whether it's good news or bad news. Makes them feel more part of the company.

I worked at Cathedral Energy full-time for more than a year

    Pros

There are no pro's to this company.

    Cons

On call every weekend, and nights. Quick to layoff, after you bend over backwards working for them. I left a decent job to work there, with promises of other work if I do a year in well planning.

    Advice to Management

Realize the talent, and get rid of the good ole boy mentality.

    Pros

Good Pay. Good insurance. Interesting work with some excellent people. Good experience overall. I would recommended this employer to anyone interested in directional drilling.

    Cons

Coordination fell off after it was transferred from Casper to Oklahoma City. Shop practices and tool quality also declined. Was disappointing to say the least.

    Pros

Most of the people that work at Cathedral are great.

    Cons

It's oilfield. The schedule is terrible, demands and expectations are high, and there is no room for error.

    Advice to Management

Find a way to balance work and home life for the field hands. As is, field hands are generally overworked.
