I have been working at Catholic Charities USA full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

The salary and the benefits. The salary and benefits make up for the cons I am about to list I guess.

    Cons

Micromanaging Crazy Work load Crazy Caseload (I am afraid there are no limits) Limited Resources Left in the dark with ever changing regulations and circumstances Some employees are not even certified for their position, especially supervisors who used to be nuns and treat you like a school boy/girl in a catholic school Demand perfection while managing a high caseload with limited resources and with...

I have been working at Catholic Charities USA full-time

    Pros

Lower level and mid level employees really work hard together. Everyone on those level are willing to work and help each other out .

    Cons

Upper management is uninformed and not helpful to middle management. In turn it hurts moral and strips talent.

    Advice to Management

It's important that newcomers understand policies and procedures before leading employees with more knowledge.

    Pros

The biggest pro of working at St. Joseph's Home for Children through Catholic Charities is that several of the staff are really dedicated to the kids and the work that they do.

    Cons

The cons listed are specifically for St. Joseph's Home for Children and does not reflect Catholic Charities as a whole. The biggest concern of working here is the lack of safety for staff. There was constant understaffing and with the population of youth they serve, this created a physically unsafe environment for staff causing many staff to be injured. The shelter itself is not currently capable of accepting youth with...
