    Pros

Working to help others is a what Catholic Charities is about. Helping people through hard times, being the place to go when no one else wants to help. Seeing the light come on in a person's eyes and that smile of thanks.

    Cons

Low pay and not enough hours to do all the work. Being left out of the loop. No direction on how to do a job and letting just anyone work there. Need to support each employee not just those who gossip and put other down.

    Pros

I am allowed to gain the necessary I need in order to secure a job overseas. I have met some very nice people and I have the opportunity to learn about their culture and tradition why I feel like I am helping out anither person get started.

    Cons

Cons are what you make them. I enjioy what I am doing so do not look for anything negative.

This is a place for a person with ambition to help people and not make money!

Sep 2, 2010 - Manager in Reno, NV

    Pros

It is a relaxed work environment where they still trust in their employees to do what is necessary for each of their programs to succeed. Since, this is a non-profit organization the little perks given like a long lunch and only working 7.5 hours a day makes it ok to not have constant bonuses. The yearly bonus for Christmas is a nice a perk if and when they have the funds. I recommend Catholic Charities as a place to work for if you don't care to succeed in other ways other than helping people. If you don't care about money and the work you do is because you really want to help than this is the place for you.

    Cons

Underpaid staff, not much of employee appreciation, such as a floating holiday for outstanding work. There is really no recognition program for those that go above and beyond the call of duty other than for volunteers.
