    Pros

-all the staff are great people to work with, they are there to help and their big hearts extend to their co-workers -the programs offered target needs which are not being addressed by other non-profit organizations -management takes into consideration the observations of staff and how the job affects them on a personal and professional level

    Cons

-while the pay is pretty non-profit standard; the benefit programs and insurance are very competitive

Depends on which branch and who the managers are

Jul 3, 2014 - Consultant in Boston, MA

    Pros

Flexibility and a sense of moral fulfillment as the employer (an therefore the employee) provides a variety of services to the community and assists in access to legal, health, educational opportunities to ultimately enhance their self sufficiency.

    Cons

Moral fulfillment does not pay the rent. As a non-profit; Catholic Charities does not pay well. Sometimes this scenario attracts either short term employees that leave as soon as they find a better salary or employees who do not give their best skills to their employer. Both situations undermine the working environment and payoff for colleagues and clients.
