I worked at Catholic Charities of Baltimore full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Learned a lot, definitely rewarding. You will get a lot of experience on the ground with clients working here. I would recommend it temporarily, but move on if you want to be able to afford the kind of life an average person wants. Great colleagues for the most part, thats why the 3 stars. Good vacation day plan

    Cons

some of our "low income" clients made far better money than I did. Worked 2 jobs to survive. Leads to high turnover. - Female employees can't get birth control on their work insurance. Ridiculous. Stop adhering to the...

    Advice to Management

Upper level administrators are doing just fine, so I fail to see why you can't take better care of your staff on the ground. Join the 21st century and provide a livable wage and birth control.

I worked at Catholic Charities of Baltimore full-time for more than a year

    Pros

A great place to really help the disenfranchised, and all those who have multiple barriers to overcome: shelter, employment, treatment...

    Cons

No appreciation from senior management for the people who are in the trenches day to day. That leads to a high rate of turnover.

    Advice to Management

A sincere thank you and recognition for the people in the trenches would make it easier to work hard and be underpaid.
