    Pros

This is a non-profit organization that is committed to its mission of serving the most vulnerable people in our society, while advocating for social justice. The working environment is mission driven, fun, and the staff are all very passionate about what they do.

    Cons

While benefits for staff are great, medical coverage for dependents is very expensive.

    Pros

People treat you with respect no matter where you came from or what your job is. They do good work for poor people and it’s a chance for me to give back.

    Cons

Sometimes clients can be difficult. A few employees don’t do their job but nothing happens.

    Advice to Management

Show a little more appreciation from upper management and also don’t let bad employees stay so long.

    Pros

Large, well known programs in the community. Established in the community for over 100 years.
Stable revenues for on going operations.

    Cons

Throw employees under the bus and are not impartial in hr when conflicts arise. Poor poor mgmt and oversight.

    Advice to Management

Train employees and hr and,all staff need training in racism and it's many forms and fair treatment during conflicts. Hire staff that care about helping people in crisis, bring no ego and humility to the workplace, and are committed to fairness and equality for all.

I have been working at Catholic Community Services of Western WA full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Gas reimbursement was nice, working with families/community. The mission looked nice on paper. Pay for therapist was great with no experience, other staff, it is very low.

    Cons

Management is horrible. This is a very high stress environment, it literally is a sink or swim. They either like you or hate you. You need to be a favorite to management to stay there long. They will do everything they can to fire you before your probation period and try to stop you from finding better employment. They've told people they will ruin their reputation. It was very stressful and I recommend staying far away from them!

    Advice to Management

retire, leave and never come back!
