I worked at Catholic Health East full-time

    Pros

Great organization with dedicated personnel. Focus on patient is unique with most organizations. Enjoyed this environment as they were staff centered too

    Cons

Not much to say negative. The finance department was a little slow and not as well coordinated as most other departments.

I worked at Catholic Health East full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Company Values were faith based - each meeting began with a reflection.

    Cons

Petty, devious, manipulative administrative staff. Made it difficult to get the job done due to one admin who knew she had ear of VP. She was vicious in her dealings and brought her very personal issues to work and wanted everyone to listen to her soap opera life. Very unprofessional and deceptive person.

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to the what Employee surveys are revealing.

I have been working at Catholic Health East full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Not too sure. Has alot of funds to help ailing hospitals. Has the ability to promote growth within company.

    Cons

Large company that owns too many hospitals hence the lack of personalized approach that every hospital needs. Needs to integrate hospitals. Too many disconnected networks. Needs to help struggling hospitals.

    Advice to Management

Integrate better...now that you are merged with Trinity Health

I have been working at Catholic Health East full-time

    Pros

The employees are fantastic for the most part. It's a very small hospital where everyone knows everyone.

    Cons

The hospital is struggling and losing money. There are always rumors that we will be closing and instead of addressing the rumors and clarifying what our direction is, senior management instead says nothing but chastises employees to stop spreading rumors.

    Advice to Management

    Communicate!

I have been working at Catholic Health East full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I appreciate the attempt to reach out to the poor and Catholic values? Good stepping stone experience

    Cons

Upper and middle management are appalling , do not listen to employees. Ran off all the best Doctors and Nurses. Hire good managers occasionally but they do not last.

    Advice to Management

Get in touch with the people who do the work, listen and give them what they need

I have been working at Catholic Health East full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Good benefits and salary offered

    Cons

I found the organization to lack honesty in its leadership. Incompetent managers, directors and CIO's are tolerated and never held accountable for theirs actions. This is an extremely political organization. Anyone who has worked in the for profit sector will immediately recognize why many of the employees choose to work for this organization. The reality is tha they would never survive in the for profit world. This is due to the fact that thry would actually be held accountable expected function at a professional level.

    Advice to Management

I would highly recommend re-evaluating your criteria for selecting leadership.
