I have been working at Catholic Health Initiatives full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    Work life balance is ok

    Cons

Very incompetent management. Top heavy paying bonuses and salaries to themselves. IT is one of the most mismanaged areas with multiple SVPs and VPs managing their own bonuses. They have spent millions of $$s in last few years with consultants and vendors getting kickbacks for the top management. No accountability for anyone. Finance is totally ineffective and cannot exercise any controls. HR does not monitor or can... control who gets paid what at VP/SVP level though they are continuing to fire people at lower levels. Executives continue to lie about financial performance. They are adding huge losses every year and stay afloat through investment income and accounting jugglery.

I have been working at Catholic Health Initiatives full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Sense of Family. Endless Teamwork. Devotion to the mission and community. Enhanced sense of pride you feel when you go home each day.

    Cons

Government Regulations and the continuous reimbursement changes in the Healthcare market, leaves the organization in a constant state of re-organization to manage expenses.

    Advice to Management

Appreciate those employees that are still here and working hard every day to make CHI successful. Just saying thank you doesn't pay the bills...

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Catholic Health Initiatives full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Hospital staff were great people to work with, however Corporate is best described as Can't Help Itself = CHI. Company has tanked financially since 2012.

    Cons

Talks a big story of employee importance but practices little of what they preach, poor financial management, riff employees to correct the bottom line of their continued mistakes.

    Advice to Management

Clean house in the executive suite, they lead this company to the dismal condition it currently is in ethically as well as financially.
