I have been working at Catholic Medical Center full-time

    Pros

Middle management worked well with staff. Director of the unit I worked for very compassionate and understanding of life challenges. The team worked with is like a family. Training/orientation was thorough.

    Cons

Attendance policy doesn't make sense. Even with a Doctor's note and a legitimate illness, it still counted against you the same as a no call, no show. Unless it was FMLA, the attendance policy was rigid and didn't take into account responsible call outs even with plenty of notice. The insurance benefits are okay ONLY if you are with in the network which was very small and primarily CMC based.

    Advice to Management

Push to revamp the attendance policy. Listen to staff about problematic employees and encourage the reporters to document to let them know a paper trail is needed instead of brushing it off to the side.

I have been working at Catholic Medical Center full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

If vested in your unit it is like a family. They are mostly compassionate and understanding middle management and look out for their staff.

    Cons

Benefits are restricting to where the medical care is you receive. Attendance system is a joke that even if you have a doctors note stating you need to be out of work for even serious medical conditions it counts against you. Only FMLA doesn’t count. I have seen it affect many coworkers negatively who have actual health conditions preventing them from working and have given all the proper notice and get treated like someone who called out 15 minutes before their shift.
