    Pros

Great, friendly co-workers. Good central location, and often interesting work in global trade. The office really closes by 5:30, and there aren't really any late nights.

    Cons

Poor compensation for the financial field, leading to high turnover. Upper management is unhelpful and often unreasonable.

I have been working at Caxton FX full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Having worked at Caxton for over 2.5 years i can honestly say the culture has completely changed. The rewards are there for all from Breakfast to BUPA, to company drinks.
The hours are extremely friendly compared to other brokers
Senior management have their moments like in all companies, especially companies that are looking to scale and grow as aggressively but its an owner ran business, its passion.
Location is also great for transport links as well as bars and shops

    Cons

Communication can always be more forthcoming
Expenses could be a simpler process and could treat the staff a bit more like professionals.

    Advice to Management

Offer people who have expenses a pre paid Caxton card - if the employee uses it they pay for it out of salary. This will help with cash flow which at times for a 24 year old new to London is tight and we shouldn't be not seeing clients because a staff member supports his family with his income and cant spend it on Caxton clients out of his own pocket.

I worked at Caxton FX full-time

    Pros

Nice friendly staff. Relaxed environment on the whole (until the CEO loses his temper and has a temper tantrum in the middle of the office).

    Cons

Senior Management never provide pay rises and if they do, its in increments of £2-3K, not 5-10K. Senior Management (mainly CEO) are only in it for themselves, they don't care about employee well being, although they claim otherwise. I witnessed one employee forced to work a 3 month notice period in a segregated room, whenever they entered the main office, the sales employees were encouraged to boo and hiss as this person traversed the office to use the bathrooms. Disgusting behaviour from a vengeful and spiteful management team. They do not like promoting or pay-rising and when they do, they clearly feel they own the employee's who aren't allowed to move on for their own career needs. The employee who I reference earlier was one of the longest standing and most well respected in the entire company - and they treated this person with disdain as soon as they resigned. Complete lack of career progression and unbelievably high turnover of staff with uncompetitive pay structures. I would recommend staying far away from this place if you're serious about a finance career or if you would like to advance in a career. When I left the company, the CEO verbally threatened to provide poor referencing for future jobs. Steer clear.

    Advice to Management

Pay staff more, learn to cater to their needs and understand why people leave. They primarily leave due to under pay and over worked, with little prospect of promotion or remuneration.

I worked at Caxton FX full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I had some fantastic years here. The people are, time and time again, said to be the best thing about Caxton. The head of talent acquisition knows what good looks like! If you have the right attitude and you are prepared to own and drive what you do - the opportunities for growth are there. I saws lots of people join in junior roles and work their way up - and it's always the ones with a great attitude and a bit of resilience. Senior management is extremely approachable and genuinely understanding if mistakes are made - as long as you own them and fix them. Fairly new CFO who is brilliant and really understands the need to invest in people - he brought in a company wide bonus scheme and increased the pension contributions within months of joining.

    Cons

Working from home is not really allowed outside of IT - this isn't the place for you if that's what you need regularly.

    Advice to Management

Use the Director of People's passion for lifelong learning and really spread it across the business! Also - get a prosecco tap to complement the beer trolley...
