I have been working at CcTC (Children's Crisis Treatment Center) (Less than a year)

    Pros

Mostly a good place to work. Staff are friendly and the administration is generally supportive, although recently have been stressed about the bottom line and making ends meet.

    Cons

Sometimes CCTC loses sight of what providers are experiencing in the field and how to best support them- there often appears to be a disconnect between the business side of things (demands) and the provision of services in the field.

    Advice to Management

Connect more with staff and listen to what they are experiencing as providers and make adjustments to benefits and demands accordingly.

I worked at CcTC (Children's Crisis Treatment Center) full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

CCTC has potential to be a productive and successful organization but the administrative team is extremely disconnected from the direct service staff.

    Cons

They often ignore basic needs of staff and kids off site, providing very little advocacy to staff in work environments outside of their main building.

    Advice to Management

Connect with direct service staff and listen and respond to their needs. They are working with very little resources while you all have every single thing you need to make yourselves comfortable. It is sad that staff who are working so hard every day have the oldest technology and resources which makes their work even more complicated.

I have been working at CcTC (Children's Crisis Treatment Center) full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

CCTC is a solid place to begin a career in mental health. For full time employees, the benefits are competitive even though wages are stagnant. There can be a strong camaraderie with direct care staff.

    Cons

Stagnant wages and very little room for growth; Not much in the way of career development results in high turnover of staff; Seemingly incompetent management and upper management. Often in the throws of a financial crisis.

    Advice to Management

Practice what you preach and learn how individual programs work.

I have been working at CcTC (Children's Crisis Treatment Center) part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Looks good on a resume, hires within, thorough training, possible placement as full time in a school based program

    Cons

Lots of questionable leadership, difficult to get a full time position

    Advice to Management

Be more adherent to the models in place and how certain leadership is abiding (or not abiding) to them.

I have been working at CcTC (Children's Crisis Treatment Center) part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Decent pay ($14/hr) I don't know if that has changed now
    A lot of open cases

    Cons

Supervision isn't online, on site only (don't know if that has changed, I used to work there back in 2011)
Cases can be far and gas effective
Managements needs to step up and listen to TSS
    Poor judgment

    Advice to Management

    Get the facts first
    Be fair

    Pros

Lots of job openings and a committed leadership team. Well defined policies and supervision structure. Good location in the city. Good way to get job experience to advance career.

    Cons

Agency hurt by the recession and has made a number of cutbacks. It is struggling financially, which makes improvements in quality of work unlikely.

    Advice to Management

There is not much feedback or guidance I can give. It was a good job and gave me great experience. However, the pay scale was not competitive.

    Pros

Great team work, caring professionals who have their heart in the right place. Everyone works to help children and family improve their lives and overcome their traumas.

    Cons

Pay is low in compare with the amount of work and responsibilities.

    Advice to Management

To work with employees on developing structure in the every day activities. To share experiences and resources that will help others in their tasks.

    Advice to Management

    Focus more on your employees.
