    I worked at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center full-time

    Pros

It's a prestigious institution with a big budget and lots of opportunity fr professional development.

    Cons

There is a lot of bureaucracy, political influences, and archaic inefficient protocols, but I guess the same can be said for many large hospitals.

I worked at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits! I had a hospital stay while I worked there and left having to pay nothing.

    Cons

Management doesn't invest enough in employee development. I tried repeatedly to advance in the company and to acquire more job duties related to my skill set, and my manager never took a real interest in helping me. I also tried for 6 weeks to meet for 20 minutes with the VP of my own dept to discuss my career path at the company and he rescheduled me for 6 weeks straight until I finally gave up.

    Advice to Management

Some of your employees, even if they don't have a healthcare background, do want to better themselves and move up. Don't be such a slave to hierarchy. If you don't help them they will leave. Also pay your employees more -- LA is a very expensive place to live!
