I have been working at Celebrity Cruises full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Great pros are the employees. We treat each other as a big family.

    Cons

Ratio workload:employee is crazy. Overall 1 person is probably doing a 3 people team job.

    Advice to Management

Senior management need to learn to ask to their own employees (the ones that perform the day-to-day job duties), before making any decisions. With the amount of work they have, its really hard to keep track of everything and most of the time the decisions affect the whole team. I also believe, they need a lot of leadership development training.

    I worked at Celebrity Cruises

    Pros

Multicultural if u like it. Clean places to work.

    Cons

Not spectacular wages, lately not much support, different departments showing their muscles to prove their right, not much chances on good wages for those living in Western world or Europe only good for cheap workers from Asta. Working too much extra hours and not paid for.

    Advice to Management

CC management sucks! I won't give my ideas for free to them to higher their credit. CC means 4 m now Cheap Cruises.

        Pros

Good company, upper level management is helpful and passionate about the brand. Great product overall, easy to sell.

I have been working at Celebrity Cruises full-time for more than 2 years

        Pros

There is a lot positive within the sales department. The company as a whole has a lot to offer for upward movement.

        Cons

Management is typical of a corporate environment at times. Follows a bit of a patronage. That being said, they sometime hire people without applicable experience for upper positions.

I worked at Celebrity Cruises full-time for more than 2 years

        Pros

International experience, ability to travel and see many different countries, make friends around the world, learn different cultures. Most of the crew is from 21 to 40 years old, interesting parties in crew bar almost every day. Possiblity to save money, as you don't pay taxes, life and nutrition also free.

        Cons

Hard work, many hours, lack of free time and sleep, 6 months without a day off. Closed space like in prison in the non-habitant island. Even the company has harassment policy, it doesn't work because you cannot prove anything. So even if 8 people write a complain for the manager, HR doesn't do anything. After leaving I found out that many people had resigned because of him and he was fired finally in 6 months approximately....

        Advice to Management

Get independent auditors and psychologists to work on the ships and make anonymus questionnaires for the crew, take into account what they say. May be then they will take care better of the guests and the suicide rate onboard will decrease.

        Positive Outlook

I have been working at Celebrity Cruises

        Pros

Working for Celebrity Cruises as an on-board employee gives you an opportunity to travel the world, to see what other people dream to see, to witness one of the greatest teamwork in the industry. You can also save some money for "great projects" of your life, such as pursuing a Masters' or gain a neccessary experience for a confident career start.

        Cons

Contracts are usually 6-7 months long. That's a bit too long to be away from home, from "real life on land". 3-4 months assignments would be ideal.

        Advice to Management

Listen to employees' opinions. Some brilliant ideas operationwise are often disregarded by manegement simply because it requires some time at initial phase of implementation.
