I have been working at Celgene full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Very good Salary & Stock Options Compensation Package, although in past 12-18 months stock options are become more competitive to acquire.

    Cons

Org Structure can make it challenging to get things accomplished.
Feel like a number, rather than asset to company at times.

    Advice to Management

Provide more opportunities for career development, training of employees & promote from within.

I have been working at Celgene full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits and salary and the people seem friendly AT FIRST!

    Cons

You have to put up with long term managers that have no idea what they are doing. Senior management in Human Resources is awful. They are a bunch of silly, over paid buffoons!

    Advice to Management

Get rid of your old wood or your ship will sink eventually. The company is growing too fast to have ineffective managers at the helm!

I worked at Celgene full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good Company overall but it depends on which department and manager you work for . Good pay & benefit.

    Cons

-I worked for Celgene over 3 years , its a good company to work for but unfortunately I worked in Corporate Accounting which it runs by Mr. right who surrounded himself with bunch of yes men. There are so much Favoritism, politics , double standard and discrimination especially against older employee in that department. He appointed some incompetent middle managers who don't have the minimum skills to manage and don't even know what they are managing .
    - I would say in my career I have not seen a manager as horrible as my former manager. She micromanaged and wants to control everything

    Advice to Management

    - Implement (Our Culture) 4 circles policy that you talked about it and distributed
to your employee ( Vision, Values, Behaviors, & purpose) especially the
behaviors bullets points which it was not followed in that department.
    - If you want to appoint or hire middle managers with 0 experience, send them to
some training to reflect Celgene values.-
    - Open the door for feedback from the employee about their managers.
-Terrible leadership leading to a awful and toxic culture in our department

    Current Contractor - Anonymous Contractor

I have been working at Celgene as a contractor

    Pros

-Work from home twice a week

    Cons

-The commute sucks, but get to work from home twice a week
-Very contract heavy, my entire department is mostly contractors, some of which have been there many years
-People at the top get paid all the money while theres none left to hire full time employees at the bottom (contract heavy)
-They have doctors working there that dont only get paid six figures there, but also from their job as a doctor
-Do a lot of work and have nothing to show for it
-Your company email blatantly shows that you're not a full time employee (says non-celgene next to it)
-There is a gym on site that you cant use if youre not a full time employee

    Advice to Management

Make more full time positions instead of all the contracts- people might actually do their jobs right if they have some security

I have been working at Celgene as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Very good work environment. Lot of space to learn as a contractor.

    Cons

Need to improve the new hire training.
    Nobody cares for contractor.
Management needs to look at the inner talent even if they are contractor. Tradition to hire contractor and after 2 years get new contractor. Just take look at the experience and work people does as a contractor.

    Advice to Management

Just give a chance to everyone.

I have been working at Celgene full-time

    Pros

Overall, great company, competitive salaries and benefits.

    Cons

Specific to the department I work in (Legal) - very poor management; little to no guidance. Very fractured department and management isn't interested in doing what needs to be done to fix it.

    Advice to Management

Hire upper management who isn't afraid to manage - who rewards those who work hard and have a good work ethic while holding those who don't accountable.

I worked at Celgene full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

it is a good 9-5 company, if you don't want to engage and just want to make a salary following your boss's orders.

    Cons

Leadership will not listen to you if you are not part of the club. And trust me, if you are reading this, you are not part of the club.

    Advice to Management

management should know how to manage people more than managing their own careers and office politics.

    I worked at Celgene full-time

    Pros

The majority of the people there are very nice. The stock options were great if you can work there for a long term. Pay was low to average. I enjoyed working with other departments in supporting the production of the medication.

    Cons

Terrible leadership. For example, I would say in my career I have not seen a manager as horrible as my former manager. She is a micromanager and wants to control everything. The majority of the peoples in our site agree she is toxic to the site. It's unfortunate that many of her peers take notice of this however never confront her. She is widely known as being disrespectful within the team.

    Advice to Management

Terrible leadership leading to a awful and toxic culture in our department.
