Several managers have been promoted too soon leading to people in management that do not understand the area they are managing.

Pros

Compensation, culture, smart people, growing organization/energy, multiple products. Restricted stock units! Overall, good culture, energy, and work environment. Lean organization so opportunity to take on more work and learn faster

Cons

Slowly becoming big pharma/hierarchical. Career progression can be hit or miss depending on political standing within organization. Depends on how much superiors with political capital 'advocate' for you. Some deserving people are passed over for promotions because of favoritism and inconsistency across the organization.

Insecurity on Management lead to fast decisions that keep change every other day, they keep talking about other thinks that are affecting them with the merger and how good is their culture ! themselves they bought dozens of smaller companies over the Years..., but they never improve the current processes that are very outdated lengthy and unnecessary, their own insecurity for the job that enjoy fro the last 10 Years or more is supposed to be your problem. To many meetings and no actions. The good people leaving or pushed out and the gossip ones are the favourites to stay. Workload is all over the place and not distributed evenly, if you are a favourite you can go home early, or work from home....US colleagues consider to have priority in everything, to many directors but they never buy new software....

Pros

Celgene is a nice place to work. All of the people are nice and very friendly. I look forward to going to work each day.

Cons

The company has a soda machine on each floor, which just leads to unhealthy habits for the employees. Not happy about that.

Nice People working there. Benefits are good

Worst management team in most departments. The Company grew very fast and they were not able to train good managers. Just because you are good at your job does not make you a good manager of people. The Managers treat lower staff like slaves in a factory. 100% is not good enough, you need to give 200%. Work life balance was the worst.
