    "Strong women need not apply"

I worked at Cell Signaling Technology full-time

    Pros

401k match and health benefits. Attending or working at scientific trade shows can be nice experiences if you are in good with your boss and Marketing. If not, you probably won't get selected to go.

    Cons

Notoriously low paying for the industry. There is so much nepotism. The corporate culture is like a boys club. It's very difficult for women to get promoted and middle management is comprised of mostly men. Misogyny and sexism are well tolerated. If you have any issues with management, don't go to HR. You are better off leaving the company.

    Advice to Management

Wake up and deal with the frat-like atmosphere there. Get rid of the problem people. They are well known.

    Cons

Nepotism within departments Owner won't set priorities Too many VPs and Chiefs with their own agenda

    Advice to Management

Its a privately held company, the owner should act like he owns it and take charge.

I have been working at Cell Signaling Technology full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Benefits, vacation time, commitment to social and environmental issues.

    Cons

Low pay, lack of middle management, rampant nepotism im hiring, too many full-time "tenured" employees that accomplish very, very little. Feels like 3-4 smaller companies rather than one unified group.

    Advice to Management

Run the company like an international business rather than Sierra Club outpost that also sells award-winning antibodies.

    No opinion of CEO

I worked at Cell Signaling Technology for more than 3 years

    Pros

Decent products to sell, some flexibility working in field based positions, mediocre benefits, nice summer and holiday parties,

    Cons

Middle management in many departments bullies and harasses some employees, but favors others. Lots of company gossip going on, which de-focuses business. East Coast Sales Manager (past and present) is both clueless and unprofessional. High turnover of field sales reps due to complete lack of management and company direction

    Advice to Management

Recognize experienced sales people, instead of hiring inexperienced sales reps at very low salaries. Stop allowing and protecting the bullying, unprofessional managers. Turnover of sales organization should be a concern.

    Cons

    Advice to Management

Management training helps a lot! Science expertise is fantastic, and marrying both in your management team would make a huge difference. Perhaps this has already happened since it's been a few years.

I worked at Cell Signaling Technology full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

The people are CST are extremely talented (some of the best minds in the industry) and very passionate about what they do.

    Cons

Some growing pains around new senior management, but the company is working hard to address. They need to put employee growth plans in place, to retain talent.

    Advice to Management

Continue to listen to the employees, as you have been starting to. Put into place employee growth plans
