I worked at Cellular South full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The people you get to work with are fantastic and you honestly can't beat the health benefits.

    Cons

A lack of transparency between upper management and everyone else creates a really toxic company culture. Upward movement is possible, but the top level is stagnant and there seems to be a lot of turnover at the lower/ middle levels of corporate.

    Advice to Management

If strategy is altered, explain why to the subordinates. It's a small thing that goes a long way.

I worked at Cellular South full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Benefits are great. 401k, eSOP, Dental, Vision, all through Fox Everett which is one of the best in MS. Downside is that Fox Everett is owned by Telapax which is a sister company.

    Cons

Quotas are often unbalanced for a given market area and the company constantly ignores changes in market. In addition, they put up a front of “Employees First” and then fire you without due cause and bury it under a lie. This isn’t just my experience but many others before me. Job security is minimal at best.

    Advice to Management

Quit firing people for no reason. Learn to properly investigate. You guys lost a valuable employee that ate, slept, and breathed CSpire because you didn’t give me an opportunity to prove I did nothing wrong. I loved this company, loved its people, and you threw me to the side like discarded trash for nothing.

I worked at Cellular South full-time

    Pros

I loved being just 5 minutes from home so I could have lunch with my wife and kids every day, the work atmosphere was decent, fellow employees were ok to work with, big Christmas party every year paid for by the company.

    Cons

wanted you to consider them over your family, felt like they had to be number one in your life and put family aside when they had something for you to do

    Advice to Management

best thing they could have done is what they did, sell the company and move on to something else

I worked at Cellular South full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

very little pros to working with this company. One of the only ones was the hourly pay plus commission pay. But the commission pay was so poor that it hardly mattered.

    Cons

Poor managment, upper level staff could not care less. Expected to meet unrealistic quotas. Store locations were being closed left and right and staff was promised meetings by our main manager to ensure we we're all safe, it never happened and then overnight your location was closed.

    Advice to Management

None, I think they are beyond help.

I have been working at Cellular South full-time

    Pros

    Good pay.
Multiple opportunities to network and learn.

    Cons

This definitely a corporate world. Remain on your toes because certain people will try to sabotage you. Not much diversity. The culture that is taught in the beginning is not the culture that is there. They state that they are customer-oriented but they are just like every other telecommunications company which is profit-oriented. It would be beneficial to have a degree in computers or business or both.

    Pros

free cell phone for you and your family
    great benefits package
very competitive industry with plenty of change
friendliest people you could everr hope to work with

    Cons

some down time, you have to "look" busy or else management will say something to you about it. limited time off during your first year.

    Advice to Management

keep up the good work, I enjoyed working with you last summer! get the iphone soon. have a broader phone selection.

    Pros

    Cons

Listen to alot of complaints from customers.

    Advice to Management

    Need new regional management.

    Pros

    401k
    100% medical
    Vacation/Paid Time Off
    Nice people to work with.

    Cons

Not enough room to advice, no minorities in upper management. There is too much fraternization with management and employees. Those who believe in the company and a have a passion for doing it “The Right Way” are not promoted. Those who have the experience are stuck at entry level positions for years. Supervisors talk to staff like 5 year olds.

    Advice to Management

There is a LOT of TALENT within the comanpy, there is no need to hire outside.
