Pros
Cemvita is a fantastic biotech startup to be in if you are interested in the energy transition/sustainability space. The science is novel (applications of native and engineered microbes in diverse industries) and the expected results could be groundbreaking in the heavy industries. The executive team, VPs and project leads are passionate about what we do but also very much support employee health and work life balance. The future of this company is bright.
Cons
As the company is so young, there are typical growing pains. The gradual addition of structure has been frustrating to some employees, such that adaptability is necessary. The salary is slightly lower than similar offers I received in the major biotech hubs (Boston, San Fran).

Pros
-Ambitious, exciting plans and vision -Work-life balance and positive company culture are prioritized -We have the resources we need to achieve our work goals (good equipment, technology, expertise) -Opportunities for professional growth
Cons
-Organization is currently a bit "top heavy," scientists outnumber research assistants and associates -We are still in the process of developing organizational systems and reporting structures. Active progress is being made, this is an inevitable challenge for a fast-growing company -No 401K (as of Nov. 2022, we have been promised this will change soon)
