Technical Account Manager

Being a woman in tech, I only recently started advocating for myself at work about advancement opportunities. Because of this I wanted to ask this question to my male counterparts. When you have 1:1's with your direct reports and talk about career growth / aspirations what is your managers’ response typically? I’d like to gauge how my experience (negative) differs from others. For instance are you met with blockades, enthusiasm, dread, etc?

Growing Company - lots of opportunity

    Pros

Cenduit has been going through a period of growth - allowing for a lot of opportunity for current employees - and has brought a lot of really great people on board in the meantime.

    Cons

As with any global company, cross-location communication could be better.

Used to be nice place to work, but then management changed...

    Pros

    nice people. working from home.

    Cons

Some members of management are snakes (like a used car salesman) and do not care about the employee. They choose to add more responsibility to their current employees without promoting or compensating fairly which causes them to burnout. Technology is extremely outdated compared to competitors. .

    Get in and get out

    Pros

Great place to get your foot in the clinical trial space. Remote work available. Potential to travel.

    Cons

As a project manager, you work directly with the client and ensure their needs are met by relaying information to the help desk and development team. Here is the best explanation I can give. Imagine you are a server at a restaurant claiming to be fine dining. You build rapport with your guest and they order food. You take the order to the kitchen, which happens to be on fire. You then must walk back out to your table and act as if everything is fine with a smile. Ultimately, the food you give your clients is burnt, but you must do your best to make them ok with their burnt meal. Very poor and inefficient processes. Software development team requires hand holding to get tasks done. Very low quality from software development team and live with impunity to their errors. Over 5 years of working there and never was asked for an exit interview.

    Good people

Jan 3, 2020 - Business Development in Research Triangle Park, NC
    Recommend

    Business Outlook

    Pros

Not too big; not too small. Depending on department, if you work hard, there is excellent opportunity for fast career growth. The CEO, Sam, is not only extremely intelligent, he's also very caring of his employees. As of 2019, moved to a new location in RTP's Frontier that is a few steps from the highly anticipated Boxyard retail space (Coming 2020).

    Cons

Lack of bandwidth that lead to capacity issues. There's a need for more training.

Communication and leadership are almost nonexistent here.

Sep 26, 2019 - Anonymous Employee in Raleigh, NC

    Pros

Free snacks and you have the ability to work from home if your manager is okay with it

    Cons

True sink or swim environment. If you can onboard to a company without the proper training and you can learn the different systems they use then this could be the place for you. Managers could have a better system on getting new employees properly trained when just starting if they are going to be on vacation for 3 weeks of the new employees first month. Very little communication and room to grow.
