I have been working at Centegra Health System full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Decent benefits, friendly and dedicated staff.

    Cons

Administration is top heavy, to many relatives of the CEO collecting high salaries. Recent lay offs and oursourcing creates an environment of insecurity.

    Advice to Management

    Be truthful, forget "talking points"

I have been working at Centegra Health System part-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Lower and mid level managers really do care about the employees and try to do their best but often are blocked by upper management

    Cons

Much of what we are supposed to focus on is irrelevant and meaningless (numbers, percentages, etc). It's like you throw common sense out the window and ignore the obvious to focus on what upper level management dictates ... almost feels like they're justifying their existence

    Advice to Management

Go back to the basics - focus, encourage and demand excellent patient care from your employees while fostering a respectful appreciation for them and giving them what they need to succeed

    Pros

The medical staff is very good and a wonderful team. The facilities are well designed and maintained. The locations are accessible to the community.

    Cons

The executive leadership misleads and lies to the public and staff about plans and intentions. Promises are not kept.

    Advice to Management

Tell tbe truth to staff and public about the deficit and mass firings. No one trusts you.

    Pros

Taking care of my patients, sharing stories and making them smile

    Cons

THE EPITOME of nepotism cliques and :climbers: Its no surprise they are ^0,000 in the hole. They don't care about their employees- Magnet was a joke. They fired over 50 seasoned critical care nurses and replaced them with new grads. I wonder how much of those millions are lawsuits. Yet Mike Eesley gets paid > one million and thats w/o all his perks. He and his cronies have taken a hospital whose employees fought to provide excellent care and was again looked up to by the community, to being one of the worse hospitals in 4 counties in Northeastern Il. I have had my family members in as pts and everything seemed to be a bother. Crappy attitudes, poor salaries ,poor knowledge base overall. Must be comforting to CHS that they supposedly have a low turnover rate- wonder what the real numbers show,,,,,HMMMMM Get rid of the current board, top heavy execs. Sound familiar . The bullying techniques are bar none for at least 30 yrs. Trump

    Advice to Management

(oops I meant Eesley) regulate all news, numbers, Stats, for their own benefit, Maybe they need some experienced nurses to turn their current situation around. They have no respect for the staff, managers, supervisors. I say wipe the slate clean and let NWH take over completely. IMPEACH!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks- that felt really good. Come on Merci wooooohooooo(: I wonder if the community knows these things?

I worked at Centegra Health System full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Nurses, therapists etc are extremely dedicated.

    Cons

Management is extremely top heavy, bully and manipulate staff. Managers play mind games and do not serve anyone but themselves.

    Advice to Management

You're driving what was once a wonderful place to work right down the drain. Recruit managers who care about employees, and who empower and uplift staff.

    Pros

A well established orthopedic group with a solid strong hold in McHenry County. You will definitely learn a lot. The surgeons are very knowledgeable.

    Cons

However.....A few of the surgeons are very difficult to work with. Entitlement is without a question. They will openly reprimand staff members in the OR and office. They will put on a smile for patients and turn a complete 180 on staff members. They have high expectations with little mentoring. If they do not like you, don't be surprised to be let go without notice. All in all this group will suck the joy out of life and make you question why you even decided to work in healthcare.

This group is better off doing everything themselves. If you are looking for a place of work that appreciates who you are and willing to give you room for error to improve, this is not the place for you.

    Advice to Management

Only hire staff members that have experience or really anyone that doesn't care about their self worth.
