I have been working at Centegra Health System full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits, tuition reimbursement, and most of the other staff is willing to help. The unit I work on has a great atmosphere usually. We work as a team (mostly).

    Cons

Heavy work load and always short staffed. Can't seem to keep the people we hire. If you have a problem the manager makes it your fault. High expectations for the hard workers and little to no expectations for the lazy workers... in fact they neglect their patients and get away with it. Need more accountability for the lazy staff that does absolutely nothing ...

    Advice to Management

Get single rooms for your patients hire more nurses to reduce the work load and have the same expectations for all employees including the lazy ones

I have been working at Centegra Health System full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Tuition reimbursement, ability to advance, generous PTO plan

    Cons

Some department managers like to be overly critical while others are overly lax, which makes it a confusing atmosphere

    Advice to Management

Stop playing favorites and treat employees like they matter

    Pros

I work with great caring, conscientious people. My superiors are wonderful. They want you to succeed and are fair. The training is great and room to advance if you desire.

    Cons

This employer is not perfect just like any other company. I don't have any complaints. I have to use up my 20 words here.

I worked at Centegra Health System full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The nurses and techs make this place. Always friendly and willing to help each other. There is room to move and grow within the company.

    Cons

Always understaffed and mandatory overtime because of it is BS. If you get injured be prepared to lose your job. I got hurt on the job and couldn't work the floor. Within 6 months I was fired or so they say 'temporary permanent disability' or you can be employed but we aren't giving you any hours to work.

    Advice to Management

Take care of you employees and staff them properly!

I have been working at Centegra Health System full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Pay is good, benefits are ok, commute for me is decent. Good team working environment.

    Cons

Typical healthcare BS. Huntley opened and McHenry has even more patients now! Patients transferred over from Huntley hate the cramped double rooms.

    Advice to Management

Figure out how to make private rooms happen in the near future! It has to happen!

    Cons

The work load is overwhelming at times and not always enough staff on hand.

    Advice to Management

Cross training within department could help each other when overwhelmed

I worked at Centegra Health System part-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

During the years I worked for Centegra, I was able to work hours that allowed me to accommodate the needs of my family. I feel that I was fairly compensated with my pay.

    Cons

CPC - Woodstock: Over time, the emphasis in the office setting went from the patient to the computer, and what information could be obtained/entered into the computer. The goal, however, was to spend as little time with the patient as possible, while requiring more and more data. Rooming for more than one busy physician, was expected, but not reasonable. Expected to do some jobs that I was not trained for, and in some instances when trained for, not given enough hours of work to maintain the skills learned.

    Pros

Great leadership. Clear direction of growth for the organization. Supportive work environment.

    Cons

If your job doesn't require you to touch a patient, don't expect your needs to be a priority.

    Cons

I would of enjoyed a little bit more variety in the work involved.
