I worked at Centene full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

No micromanagement allowing mostly full autonomy and opportunities to be creative. Great pay, great benefits, great vacation allowances. Good company overall.

    Cons

New boss took away my autonomy. Processes are not lean, but they are getting there. People steal credit for your work.

    Advice to Management

Make sure the bosses continue to allow creativity from their creative employees and don’t claim credit for their ideas and their work.

    Pros

Benefits and pay rates are good. Most of the time food on holidays.

Main campus is loaded with amenities: gym, food, good staff

    Cons

Middle Management can be tricky. Squeezing stuff through budget can be a hassle.
Many coming and going at lower level leaves needs in training.

I have been working at Centene full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Pays well for the area
    Advancement opportunity
Work closely with many different departments
Excellent way to learn the ins and outs of the ACA

    Cons

Some managers are shady. They will intentionally withhold information that many would consider very relevant. They make decisions based on speculation without knowing the actual amount of work it takes to complete a project.

    Advice to Management

Management should only be promoted from within.

I worked at Centene full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Decent benefits, co-workers were great, very visible in the community

    Cons

Too many to name. ZERO work from home, very little work/life balance if you don't have a decent boss that understands what that means, very low pay for the amount of work you are required to do, upper management does not listen to employees even when the department is losing people left and right and plenty of empty promises to try and keep the last faithful few they have left.

    Advice to Management

Stop with the empty promises to fix what is broken!! Do what you say you are going to do! You have so many loyal employees but you are drowning them instead of helping than!
