        Positive Outlook

I worked at Center for Army Analysis full-time

        Pros

Challenging; Rewarding; satisfying; great benefits; Opportunity to learn many diverse skills.

        Cons

Moving a lot; depending on the commander you report to, will determine position satisfaction and comfort level within the team. Some commanders' take advantage of their ability/leverage to treat you any kind of way without fear of reprisal/reprimand.

        Advice to Management

Need to listen to subordinates more and with an open mind. Mind guard is sometimes an impediment to team and unit success.

I have been working at Center for Army Analysis

        Pros

Ability to potentially contribute to a cause, good benefits, very good work/life balance. Located near nice areas if you're looking to live close by.

        Cons

Far too little work to do, management only listens to people who come in with strong military backgrounds (i.e. full career in Army or working with Army), culture based on the cult of personality of the director. Very poor HR work makes for slow processing of recruiting, pay changes, reimbursements, etc., very error prone and errors that hurt you are not corrected.

        Advice to Management

Recognize that in the modern civilian world ability and age do not correspond exactly as the military likes to think they do. Recognize that civilians should not be treated like military personnel since they have the option to leave. Fix HR department and when there are HR errors, make it up to the employee somehow.
