I have been working at Center for Family Services full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Center For Family Services does an amazing job of creating a culture that is centered around treating employees like family. Leadership sets this culture in motion and it is disseminated throughout each of the organization's programs. The organization is lead by true leaders who are forward thinking change makers with the good of the community in mind every step of the way. With the organization growing quickly there are opportunities for advancement.

    Cons

A more structured and consistent management training would be incredibly helpful for both new and more experienced supervisors.

I have been working at Center for Family Services full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Personally rewarding work, generous time off

    Cons

Horrendous benefits that they make you pay way too much for (employee & spouse is more than half my check every single pay period and doctors laugh at me when they see how terrible the plan is), pay is low even for a nonprofit, lots of favoritism

    Advice to Management

So much nepotism and favoritism going on, especially within certain programs, that it's a serious issue. People are keeping their jobs who have no business keeping them. Do a better job of sticking to HR policies when it comes to hiring and performance reviews. I've worked here for 10 months and have not even had a formal supervision! And this is a HUGE thing: for a family company who supposedly cares for the disadvantaged, it would be nice if you didn't gouge your employees when it comes to their own health care.

    Pros

Diminishing. Work independently good interactions w clients qualified staff dedicated staff

    Cons

New management structure created a new level of middlemen that is inefficient. The new management talks only to itself and creates policies without considering practical implementation or impact on how programs operate. No pay raise in 8 years! Micromanaging staff on small matters. Workloads are overwhelming and cannot be accomplished in a work week. Have to take work home or work on weekends on a regular basis.

    Advice to Management

Start involving program directors in policy development. Address the obvious inefficiencies and be more supportivem
