I have been working at CenterPointe Hospital full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Very nice, helpful, professional staff

    Cons

Staff to patient ratio has been severely reduced with the advent of new management

    Advice to Management

understand that the reduction in staff is unsafe and valued employees will seek other employment

    Pros

Some f the nurses and techs are the greatest people I've ever worked with. The patients are wonderful and most of them are really there for a change.

    Cons

Management and supervision have conflicting opinions on how morally grey areas should be interpreted. Lots of employees are not trained properly. Some nurses don't even know their patients names and faces after working with them for hours. They also have a tendency to treat their techs like dirt. Some of the techs have been trained poorly or do not care and only got the job because of a relative. I can recall plenty of times that nurses have given incorrect medication or mixed up patients and the techs have let patients get away with things like TAKING SCISSOR TO THEIR ROOMS among other things.

    Advice to Management

Be more cohesive with you staff. Don't make such drastic changes without the notification of the employees. Send an email or something at least? You have everyone's email addresses and phone numbers... Azfar Malik is no longer the CEO by the way. He sold the company to investors who with their history of buying and selling will more than likely flip the company again soon.

I worked at CenterPointe Hospital full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good co worker atmosphere, good pay for housekeeping, nice building, benefits were good

    Cons

disorganized at times, animosity among workers, favoritism with management, too much attention on turn time of rooms creating much stress

    Advice to Management

Make sure all managers and supervisors and leads are on the same page, at all times when directing workload. EVS really needs one person who does nothing but strip rooms for the housekeepers.

    Negative Outlook

I worked at CenterPointe Hospital full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Some of the staff is hardworking and can be amazing to work with. Many learning opportunities at this hospital.

    Cons

Every decision appears to be made based on profit to the owners, rather than on patient care or the safety of staff, patients, and visitors. The ratios of staff to patients have been greatly decreased within the past year, leading to dangerous conditions on the units. Numerous staff (in the double digits) have been severely injured due to decreased staffing and increased acuity of the patients accepted to the hospital. All complaints to management and administration have been met with no changes to improve safety, only further cuts to safety measures.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your staff. Provide a safe working environment. Provide a safe and therapeutic environment for patients.

    Pros

I can't think of one pro to put for this hospital.

    Cons

The hospital is falling apart. Money problems. Making full time employees take off and use their PTO. Under staffed on the units which puts patients and staff members at risk. Do not work here. Do not go here for treatment.

    Pros

Coworkers were helpful and supportive. Schedule can be flexible if you're part time or prn. Good exposure to different diagnoses.

    Cons

Crisis situations occur often. Upper management doesn't seem to always get what their line workers are experiencing.

In my opinion overworked employees are frequently crabby towards each other. Management plays favorites by inconsistently enforcing policy.

    Advice to Management
