    Pros

The pay is great for a college student ($13)
Most of the employees are nice

    Cons

If your mentor (trainer) doesn't like you he/she will go and tell your manager everything you do wrong
There is no room for improvement, there isn't any formal warnings
If not perfect at your job from the get-go you can be fired during training

    Advice to Management

    FIND BETTER MENTORS
match mentors to trainees by personalities
    Retrain mentors regularly
Train them like school teachers, not everyone learns the same

I have been working at Centier Bank full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

This is truly a great company! They really care about the employees. We do banking the right way. We treat people like people, both customers and coworkers alike. Privately owned by the same family since 1895. Promotes Servant-heart leadership.

    Cons

Some processes take a bit more time than larger banks. customers get used to it. I'm not a big fan of uniforms. It can be a bit stifling.

    Advice to Management

Allow everyone to wear business attire instead of purchasing uniforms. Other than that, NEVER lose the small bank feel. Continue to do right by customers.

    Pros

good work culture. They have tons of perks if you work at the corporate center. If you work at a branch it depends on the manager.

    Cons

Pay was decent. At the end they were cutting everyone's hours. Staff was only working 32 hr at one point.

I have been working at Centier Bank full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

This bank is family oriented with a strong focus on building good relationships with clients and local communities. Employee benefits include: an on-site clinic that offers free prescriptions, college tuition reimbursement, employee assistance programs like the CARE fund, a fun culture that promotes celebrations, decent vacation time, and has a very low turnover rate.

    Cons

Extremely difficult to get into different departments. HR is good at being sympathetic and understanding, but needs to work on coaching employees in constructive ways to promote advancement. Entry level positions require 15+ years bank experience and/or a Bachelor's degree which makes advancement difficult for most. Hours are being cut across the board for most retail positions, and raises are minimal at best.

    Advice to Management

Be open to new people and be willing to create new opportunities. Keeping the same person in the same job position for 20+ years can sometimes have a negative affect on the company. Be willing to stay up to date and be consistent so that there is an increase in efficiency and communication between departments. There are far too many long term employees who are complacent and lazy with negative attitudes who will not take ownership for departmental mistakes. Make sure to properly train staff properly before making huge changes. Its not fair to have such high expectations and expect big results when you can't or won't properly train your employees beforehand.
