I worked at Centinela Feed full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

Working with animals, and talking about pets with clients.

    Cons

Salary, crazy work hours, toxic work environment, management and corporate are draining in ways I’ve never witnessed with any other company before. They are very disorganized and they’re a company that’s growing and figuring things out as they do, which means they are all over the place and far from having their act together. Every outcome that does not go as expected, will most certainly try to be pinned on someone else....

    Advice to Management

Building morale amongst your employees has been proven to also help build profits. People are not disposable. Maybe increase your salaries to match the expectations and demands you have of your employees.

I worked at Centinela Feed part-time for more than a year

        Pros

The benefits were really good, they were flexible with my schedule, the knowledge you learn from there is very useful and informative, some of the mangers were good

        Cons

The work isn't worth the pay, sometimes they'll overwork the workers, it could be understaff at times because people quit on the spot or just never come back back, the pay raise you get aren't really fair, they do favor who was there longer

        Advice to Management

Hire within the company, people who were associates will have a better understanding

I have been working at Centinela Feed full-time for more than 6 years

        Pros

The training and the customers and their pets

        Cons

Everything else. Low pay, treat employees poorly. Currently involved in a lawsuit for among other things not giving employees breaks. They lost the lawsuit but still refuse to give breaks. Oh, and there is more than a strong hint that if you except the payout from the lawsuit, you will face repercussions from the owners and corporate.

        Advice to Management

Why go to the trouble of training your staff if you are going to treat them so poorly?

They put so much pressure on passing secret shops, if you fail you get written up, but what they don’t tell you is that if you get 100% your General Manager will get a bonus. Management is sketchy as hell, will always talk behind your back and gossip. Constantly lying to their staff is a regular. I worked at Centinela Feed full-time for more than 4 years

        Pros

Overall, when I first began working there management was very nice. They will recognize you if you work hard. The animals are great and you learn a lot about pet nutrition.

        Cons

I came to leave a review because people should seriously stay away. I worked very hard for this company. I went above and beyond creating displays that would be used by the other stores and they completely appreciated it. However, when corporate started harassing my GM with sales and productivity, they came down hard on me because I didn't do something visually in a specific order, even though I increased their sales....

        Advice to Management

The only reason I came to leave a review is because they are opening new locations. Management, treat your hard working employees with respect. There's a reason there's such a high turnover rate. You rank at 2 stars, yet do nothing to change your ways. It's a shame.

        Cons

You smell like pet food at the end of the day.

        Advice to Management

Try to limit the management turnover rate. I went through at least 7 managers during my time.
