    Pros

Decent pay, pays experience, good doctors, good autonomy, most people work together well, good floor orientation

I have been working at CentraCare Health part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good benefits; good hours; good pay

    Cons

poor communication between administration and staff; too "corporate" for a healthcare organization; poorly trained management

    Advice to Management

Just because a staff member is a good clinical employee does not mean that same person has the skills, or is a good personnel manager of a department. I see many promoted into leadership who would be better served to stay clinical and perhaps outsource for the leadership roles. There are many great employees not recognized for their education or achievements who would make fantastic leadership personnel and mentors. A lot of money has been spent to create the culture of the Best begins with me but this is not being practiced by leadership/directors

I worked at CentraCare Health (Less than a year)

    Pros

Could pick up as many hours as you would like. Most of all staff members know each other very well.

    Cons

They are under staffed. Mostly all staff members are long time friends. At time would take time to warm up to new hires.

    Advice to Management

If an employee is having medical or even mental issues and are being seen by a doctor don't count those days missed and give them warnings that would end up in causing their departure of employment.

I have been working at CentraCare Health part-time

    Pros

    Working with patients and families

    Cons

    lack of flexibility with schedule
    hours are not guaranteed

    Advice to Management

Start treating your employees like actual people with lives outside of your computer screen you stare at.

  10. "Not impressed."

    Pros

The union at Monticello fights very hard to make sure we were paid fairly and had decent benefits. Unfortunately Centracare has kept unions ( other than the nurse's union) out of most of their facilities.

    Cons

Centracare tries very diligently to break the union. They don't want to offer the pay and benefits the union has negotiated.

    Advice to Management

Treat your Monticello employees better. I've heard that staff at St. Cloud hospital are usually treated very well. It's time to treat everyone throughout your system well.
And just because you're based in a college town doesn't mean that wages at all locations should be sub-par.
