    Negative Outlook

I worked at Central Christian College of Kansas full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Easy to get a job there, even if you aren't qualified. It's a small town, so they can be hard up for help. There are also some good folks that work there.

    Cons

The board is, for all intents and purposes, a passive entity. This leaves everything to the president. The president came into his role from the military, and really has no understanding of how to conduct himself in a non-military environment. Every decision is whatever sounded good to him in the heat of battle. Everyone is his subordinate and his authority is not to be questioned. Any questioning is met with condescending dismissal. This sets the tone for the whole place, and leads everyone to sort of barricade themselves in and try to fly under the radar. With that, you'd think the complaints were that their too strict, but they also apply their faith philosophy at the oddest times. As another employee put it, they act like a church when they should act like a business, and they act like a business when they should act like a church.

    Advice to Management

Dear board members: organize and direct the institution so that it isn't at the mercy of the president's chaotic, ad hoc, band-aid-everything strategy.

    Advice to Management

A stronger relationship should be forged between the online programs and the in-class administrators.

  10. "Great people, sketchy leadership"

    StarStarStarStarStar

I worked at Central Christian College of Kansas

    Pros

Until the leadership shifted, the entire workforce was truly a family. You really felt loved and challenged while there.

    Cons

The new key leadership chose to lead by fear rather than being servant-leaders. Communication downward was on a need to know basis exclusively with cards being held close to their chest often to aid in subtle manipulation... Which was rampant.

    Advice to Management

Lead with love and grace while remaining humble and you'll achieve great things!
