I worked at Central Florida Health full-time

    Pros

Cafeteria food was the best part of working there. A couple nice coworkers. PTO wasn’t bad though no paid holidays.

    Cons

Management is good at hiding their mistakes by shifting blame. Retaliation is an issue & used to get them off the hook for poor decisions. Almost no guidance or training provided to new hires. Poor industry practices. Most of all they do not care about their employees. No focus on employee engagement, work life balance, or professional development. Gossip rampant and professionalism lacking. Would not recommend.

    Advice to Management

You need to pay attention to trends. High turnover in a small department should be enough to spur at minimum an investigation.

    Pros

Management is so disengaged you can practically define your own role. The detachment is so pronounced that the lack of micromanaging is nice, but it comes at the cost of actual management of any sort.

    Cons

This place is a complete cluster. Chaos rules here and there are zero policies/procedures. The culture is toxic and employees complain about the lack of direction daily. This company is more about who you know and differences/dissension is not tolerated.

    Advice to Management

There is no hope since the hostile and toxic environment is so entrenched. A wholesale turnover would be best to drain the swamp.

I have been working at Central Florida Health full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Friendly co-workers; environment is professional but relaxed. Benefits are good including tuition reimbursement.

    Cons

you may be strongly encouraged to use paid time off during the holidays if you work in a non-patient area. I would rather have the option to use my time when I want to use my time.

    Advice to Management

Look internally to grow and promote your leaders.

I have been working at Central Florida Health full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

An aggressive forward thinking Admin, in a very competitive area, patient care is a very front and center focus. Very experienced staff with a longevity.

    Cons

Sometimes the financials can impede on patient care. I would like to see an increased amount of pto, and to have more competitive salaries across the board.

    Advice to Management

Admin. needs to stay in touch with the front line team members.

    Cons

Low staff, no appreciation, horrible management

    Advice to Management

If you are understaffed don't take a vacation before trying to find people to work on your floor a CNA should never have more than 18 patients at a hospital.

I worked at Central Florida Health full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Pretty hospital in the villages. The people are nice. They give u a free ham for the holiday. Dress code is casual. Discounts at urgent care.

    Cons

In the event of a natural disaster i.e. hurricane they require employees to use PTO when they can't make it to work. Also, requires you to use pto for national holidays. Closes the offices for non-essential staff from Dec 25 until after Jan 1. Making staff use pto. The executives are overpaid underworked.

    Advice to Management

Treat staff as you would treat yourself.
