I have been working at Central Pacific Bank full-time

    Pros

Very relationship oriented, they work with you. Anecdotally, better mobility than the other Hawaii Banks.

    Cons

No real cons, CPB is behind their competitors due to their history. They are rapidly gaining ground though, and a great employer regardless!

    Advice to Management

    Keep it up!

    Pros

multiple locations if your position is in branch, training sessions are good not great but at least they try. Most employees are friendly and helpful.

    Cons

The branch I am in is at a crossroads, management is poor. The questions I have often go unanswered, there is huge miscommunication between what the VP’s want and what is actually happening in the branch. The position I was hired for is not what I am currently doing. Management was very misleading about what I would be doing. I was lead to believe that the majority of my work would be loan related with a little teller work when needed as it turns out it is the complete opposite

    Advice to Management

    be honest

    Helpful co-workers and supervisors

    Cons

    Repetitive at times
Did not feel I was learning as much as I could have been

I worked at Central Pacific Bank full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great place to work. Very good initiatives and family oriented work place

    Cons

Don't care much for teller workers

    Advice to Management

Stop the churn for tellers they are front line workers but it takes so much time and training for all staff for new tellers

I have been working at Central Pacific Bank full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Company has good benefits, employee club events, etc. Everyone works well together in my area. Bank has come ways since their almost fall out years back.

    Cons

Like any company , keeping employees is always a challenge

    Advice to Management

Upgrades to banking system for ATMs and mobile app. HSFCU has a great app and BOH has a good ATM system for depositing

I worked at Central Pacific Bank full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Excellent work environment.
Department management compromises the needs of the individuals and the company.
Flexible leave request depending on the needs of the department.

    Cons

Lack of staffing may impact employee morale.
The company has a lot of initiatives that make it difficult for any one project to gain significant traction.
Department managers should be further educated on the potential risks certain initiatives may have on the overall company.

    Advice to Management

I recommend management focus on 2 or 3 significant initiatives.
