    Pros

    I only have 1 yr driving = they took a chance. I get a lot of $ to drive. I just saved enough to buy my 1st house.

    Cons

    I'm work nights. but that's where the $ is.

    more daytime road drivers!!!!!!

    The pay is excellent, plenty of hours available to work, newer trucks, new trailers coming in, good insurance

    Cons

    I wish the company had direct deposit, having vision insurance would be nice

    Keep bringing in the new trailers, hopefully have direct deposit sooner than later

    Pros

    Honestly a great pay scale. Good environment and team. If you know what LTL shipping is, this isn't a bad company at all. Come to work, do your job and you will have no issues at all.

    Cons

    No direct deposit. Technology could use improvements. Although I see why most decisions are made at the GO, I think terminal management should be able to have more control.

    Advice to Management

    Invest in new computers across the board. New handhelds that keep up with demand. Trust the terminal management more. If they can't handle running a terminal effectively send them packing.

    I worked at Central Transport full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Flexibility, get to be out of an office environment and moving, most days you work on your own and set your own pace.

    Cons

    Strictly door to door sales and cold calling every day. Place and equipment is falling apart, managers micro-manage and critique on every detail of pointless admin work despite your numbers being good. Your constantly going to people who have used Central in the past and hate you. Company constantly rips off customers with damaged product and gets very clever with all of these rules as to why they can't reimburse the client. You'll constantly be threatened to be fired if your numbers peak or have a slow month. Turnover in this role is inevitable, the best sales people move to better companies and most people don't last a year. You're given a territory, but after awhile you're bound to run into a snag of limited opportunity where you have to keep calling on customers who don't want to use you again. My advice would be to avoid this position unless you have a burning desire to work in transportation and don't mind with answering to endless customer complaints.

    Advice to Management

    Simple, affordable, and far from reliable. Would you have faith in this company to ship your product if you owned a mom and pop shop? Not all sales territories are created equal. Some territories are much smaller and will be much more difficult for a rep to grow and produce good numbers or even have enough accounts to call on. Stop micromanaging with all this administrative nonsense and focus on the bigger picture, which is good sales and creating a better value and service to the customer. Eliminate managers who have been with the company for awhile, their old ways are the reason this company is sinking.
