I have been working at Centria Healthcare full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Centria Healthcare is a rare breed...a fast-growing national company with a meaningful mission. Exciting, fast-paced, and challenging are a few words to describe the company. Centria is NOT stagnant, boring, or traditional. My experience has been incredibly rewarding, both personally and professionally, and is a fabulous place for hard-working people looking for an opportunity to learn, grow, and impact thousands of lives every day. (check out #centrialife)

    Cons

    Centria is not for everyone

    Pros

Great pay rate to start with little/ no experience required, rewarding position, flexible days and hours depending on the family.

    Cons

Difficult to reach anyone on the corporate side, difficult to understand how to initially get paid, CSMs are unorganized.

    Advice to Management

Reach out to technicians more, they are the reason the company has been as successful as it has.

I have been working at Centria Healthcare full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Everyone in the office is close and approachable. I can’t say anything negative about any colleagues or leadership because they have all been very friendly, helpful, and truly make you feel welcome. The work we all do is humbling and rewarding. Generous bonuses and decent salary.

    Cons

Employees have a life too, and overworked employees are unhappy employees. I personally think that “expecting” most staff to be there from 8am until 6pm is unnecessary and unusually long. Keeping employees happy with a good work-life balance is key to preventing the high turnover that some departments experience. Although staff is being added on to those departments, there’s always the need for everyone to be available then entire day.

    Advice to Management

Create a better work-life balances schedule for your employees. At the end of the day, working 50+ hours a week leaves many on a meager hourly wage if calculated that way. Understand that some of us have families to tend to, and as much as we care about our clients, we end up forgetting about our own kids at home. Make a standard 8 hour schedule and layer the start times of employees so that coverage is available throughout the day without the need of working a 9-10 hour shift daily.

    Pros

it's great if you like working with kids, sometimes you will make a difference in their and their families lives. pay is okay if you are working full-time.

    Cons

nearly impossible to move up in the company. subpar training (most of it is online, and you no longer get to shadow other technicians in person anymore). payroll will constantly forget to pay you on time. it's nearly impossible to find full time work. you hardly get reimbursed for materials that you buy for your clients. you sometimes work with strange or rude families and have poor supervision, you are thrown into cases extremely unprepared and can have legal action taken against you if something happens to the child (even if you weren't trained to handle it). you can get badly injured on the job or have your property damaged by clients. work here at your own risk. client service managers and at times BC/BCBAs are very difficult to get ahold of, even if there is an emergency. Also, the '24/7 emergency line' will send you to voicemail, so don't bother calling them if there is any kind of emergency with your client.

    Advice to Management

stop focusing on quantity (e.g. how many cases you can fill) and focus on quality of training, experience and education for your technicians as they are the ones who spend the most time with the kiddos and their families.

I have been working at Centria Healthcare full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    I have a good BCBAs
    I have a good CSM
    The pay is competitive
I like that we can make up hours missed
Excellent for the Kiddos -good program set up on the Ipads
Feel like the people I work for/with care about me and set me up for success.

    Cons

Client suddenly cancels-there is nothing you can do. Make it up somehow.
Supervision is remote so it seems forced and uneasy.
The client does not always follow the program which sets back learning for kiddo.
Night hours not really practical for one with a family

    Advice to Management

I think you should charge, like all other businesses, a cancellation fee to encourage people to come and not miss their sessions with their children.
