I worked at Centura College full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

My paycheck is always on time......

    Cons

Management is horrible, the whole business is admissions (sales) driven, students are enrolled in overpriced programs and most of the students will not be benefit. Moral among employees is extremely low, due to the passive/aggressive attitude from management. Very high turnover rate which makes it impossible to build a team environment.

    Advice to Management

Commit to the success of your employees! Offer better training programs and opportunities for professional growth! Treat your employees like humans not robots!

I worked at Centura College full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Some employees really do care. Certain supervisors are flexible if you need day off, etc.

    Cons

Classes are ridiculously overpriced. Training is practically non/existent for certain positions. The owner made it obvious money, money, money is his main concern. Anyone is accepted in school as long as you show interest. The policies change a lot with employees, not everyone is kept in the loop. There is gossip, and it's true some cannot be trusted. The pay is decent for admissions reps, but overall the pay is lower than other similar companies in the area. Aside from the few people that make this place tolerable, it is NOTHING to write home about! There is also a high turnover.

    Advice to Management

My advice would be to the owner, as all the problem issues come from the top. Stop being selfish and step back and evaluate what's wrong with your school.

I worked at Centura College full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Few coworkers were trust worthy and great to work with....very few!!!!

    Cons

Diploma mill school; management team uneducated and didn't respect those with graduate degrees; only interested in student's financial aid money; low morale due to lack of management expertise and education

    Advice to Management

All schools should be closed down due to fraud, corruption, and discrimination.

I have been working at Centura College part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great people to work with, and the students are enthusiastic and hard working.

    Cons

The school is starting up a bachelor's program, and it's taking a long time to build critical mass, so the work isn't steady.

    Advice to Management

It would be a good idea to bundle class offerings from various campuses and offer classes at one campus until critical mass is reached.

I have been working at Centura College full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good school. Students are great. The school has potential for growth. Good company to work for. I don't want the school to close.

    Cons

Poor management. If Corporate had addressed the many complaints about how the campus director was managing, the school would not be closing. Centura is a good school. It would have thrived of there wasn't such resistance from the top manager.

    Advice to Management

Corporate needs to reconsider closing the school and just remove the one element that was preventing the school to succeed.

I have been working at Centura College full-time

    Pros

Decent money for sitting at a desk all day and hoping someone wants to enroll at the school.

    Cons

No focus on students just numbers on a chalk board for enrollments. Management doesnt have a clue. Very intoverted and childish about dealing with employees. worst decision I made. STAY AWAY!!!!!

    Advice to Management

Find another job and save the school
