I have been working at Century 21 Department Stores (Less than a year)

    Pros

You don't need much experience in the security field to get this job. In the beginning it seems like you are not doing a lot of work in relations than they expect you too.
You could take a lot of hours extra , easily

    Cons

Going back to my point of taking a lot of hours extra, the reason is a lot of people quit the job. The retention rate is very bad. People who you work with now will change in 6 months (at least 50% of them).
Managers are bad and lazy (half of them, the other half is pretty nice). They have attitude and think they are better than you.

    Advice to Management

A large portion of you act like you're better than us. There's an invisible fight between managers and associates.

I have been working at Century 21 Department Stores full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

You know great people, get enough experience being Sales Associate or Cashier, the salary is good and every friday is pay day so that’s good that’s why I accepted this job too. I like it so far

    Cons

    Only 45 minutes of lunch
You work under FULL pressure (I don’t care but they are people that they hate that so)
You didn’t know what to do when you get to the floor that you gonna work because they are a few managers and all say different things to you so you gonna be in constantly move, if you don’t like that be a cashier or something else instead of Sales Associate (I like that because the time goes more faster but they are people they don’t like that either so)
And... they offer me a FULL-TIME job (35-40 hours a week) and they give me LESS than 34 hours a week like a part-time and i’m not a part-time associate. Example: This week I only got 30 hours. The pay check it’s gonna be so low and I don’t like that fact because I accepted the offer because they offer me a full-time job and they pay me and they take me like a part-time and NOOO!

I worked at Century 21 Department Stores part-time

    Pros

Weekly Paycheck, 10% discount on merchandise

    Cons

Must be in an union (taking my money), management does not care for employees, break time starts when you're not even in the break room, no team building exercises at all. Minimum wage

    Advice to Management

    Take care of your employees!

I worked at Century 21 Department Stores full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Gain great experience managing a large team.

    Cons

Upper management/corporate does not care about the integrity of their senior managers. They tend to hire anyone how is willing to work for low pay as a manager. As an asset protection manager you are lucky if you get paid 45,000 per year. As an asset protection manager you are responsible for making all apprehension and paperwork processing. Huge turn around with asset protection management staff.

    Advice to Management

Pay your Asset Protection Management staff more and treat them better, maybe this way they will be happier and willing to work harder. Be fair and get rid of unethical managers.

    Pros

Great community, higher ups know who you are even at a low level. Lots of opportunities for special projects. family company!

    Cons

Lots of blame out from crossfuctional teams. Not much room for promotion unless someone leaves. Need to focus more on people you have then outside people.

    Advice to Management

    Promote from within
