I have been working at Century 21 Department Stores (Less than a year)

    Pros

Decent hours, weekly pay, the co workers are very nice. Well rounded environment. There are chances of you being able to move up in the company.

    Cons

They want you to be a robot and not talk. Constant work. The company is dead on weekdays. Management acts like they care but really don't. They only see the negative.

    Advice to Management

Talking down to employees lowers their moral and makes them hate work. Also makes them not want to do anything for you.

I worked at Century 21 Department Stores full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The culture at the company is pretty great. They try really hard to be on the list of great places to work and the have fun contests and parties throughout the year. They have a pretty decent work/life balance. I rarely would work overtime. They work on getting you promoted and moved around in the company so you don't stay in one position for too long. However, they don't increase your pay while doing so. The owners of the company (gindis) are the nicest people you will ever meet and not at all stuck up. They are easy to talk to/approach.

    Cons

The pay is absolute crap for the amount of work you do.

    Advice to Management

Pay your employees better. Focus on the people at the bottom of the totem pole that do most of the grunt work.

    Pros

While it is obvious that I am a huge supporter of C21 because of my title, I would like to share a testimonial I wrote while working in the Training Department.

“C21er since 2011” Human Resources makes it their mission to Deliver Value to Live Better every single day. Every day I feel respected and appreciated by everyone I interact with from the owners of the company to the team members in our stores. It is part of my job to communicate openly and efficiently and the communication in this company has vastly improved from when I first started. At C21, no matter what position you have, you will work together as a team day in and day out to get your job done. I truly believe that the strongest asset the company has is….. people. We have tenured people with amazing experiences and fabulous stories as well as newcomers with fresh ideas. I am so honored to work with the people I do because they make me better and inspire me. We are honest people who act with integrity and always do the right thing. If you work hard, you will be recognized and the company will allow you to grow. Whether that is giving you the opportunity to take on new challenges, be part of a development program or get promoted. The company invests in their people. Through success, team collaborations and celebrations, our teams are positive and engaged. It is wonderful to know that everyone’s goal is the same whether you work in the DC, Corporate Office or on the sales floor- we strive to provide an AMAZING experience to our internal and external guests.

    Cons

We have open lines of communication and constantly ask for feedback. When I have an issue my manager works with me to get things resolved. I feel completely supported by C21!

I worked at Century 21 Department Stores (More than a year)

    Pros

Wonderful owners, broker, friendly staff, fun environment. They were very accommodating. I made a lot of friends there. There was always something interesting going on even when it was slow.

    Cons

There were not any bad things at all. The worst part was probably only that the market was at a lull. This made it a tad hard to sit through the day with not a lot to do.
