    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Century Federal Credit Union full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great work-life balance, good team of people that are working hard to offer members the best services.

    Cons

Because of the business model of a SEG-based charter, it often makes it hard to get new members. Fee income is severely compromised due to unnecessarily low or non-existent fees.

    Advice to Management

I would push to move to an open charter and make fees more on par with the industry standards.

I have been working at Century Federal Credit Union full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Work/Life balance & good benefits

    Cons

The C-level leadership team is not good. Probagating a culture that is the worst I’ve every worked at. They either don’t do any actual work or are completely inappropriate in their management style that they break a half dozen HR policies every week.

    Advice to Management

Hold leaders as accountable as all other positions. Apply policies equally to all employees not just the ones you dot like.

    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Century Federal Credit Union full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The credit union has an articulate strategy to strengthen its' membership model. Hiring managers scout for talent internally before any position is made available to the public.

    Cons

There was a time that the credit union maintained ethical practices. Abuse of power, misuse of company time, lying to employees, lying to hide mistakes, badmouthing colleagues, passing the buck, biased attitudes, varying treatment, taking credit for other colleagues' work, etc.

    Advice to Management

A policy for checks and balances at all levels should be created by a third party, someone not affiliated with the credit union. The credit union auditor means well but you need a third party to objectively complete the task.

    Pros

    good people to work with
decent pay, raises based on performance
    good vacation time

    Cons

very limited staff, hard to get time off because there isn't enough to cover
very dated systems that crash a lot
board members don't know or care whats going on and spend profits on going to conventions out of state

I worked at Century Federal Credit Union full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good 401k match. Member benefits given to employees free of charge.

    Cons

C-Level management are slimy, back handed, and deceitful.
If something isn't the CEO's idea, it doesn't get past "hey maybe we should do this."
Employees are regularly shamed and embarrassed for bringing up ideas and dismissed as a lack of experience.
Definitely something shady going on with upper management, an employee that put the company in serious danger was brought back without reason and despite the objection of both the board of directors and employees.
Very high VOLUNTARY and INVOLUNTARY turnover rate.

    Advice to Management

Listen to and trust your employees. Don't micromanage. Treat people with respect.

    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Century Federal Credit Union full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The company has a great group of people working together to offer members the best financial services for a very low cost. Great work life balance.

    Cons

It's a small company, so you need to wear a number of hats no matter what your level is in the organization. Resources are limited but if you can make a good case for your request you may get it approved by the board of directors.

    Advice to Management

The internal auditing process is broken. This should definitely be revisited to make it more of a positive tool for the company and not the long arm of the law.

    Pros

Hard working employees who really care about doing great things and are willing to go the extra mile to ensure member satisfaction.

    Cons

One of the most unusual companies that I have ever worked for. Ethics are questionable as it relates to HR Issues. Top management is a huge problem.

    Advice to Management

Treat your teams better, stop playing favorites and show appreciation for the employees.
