    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

The managers are very professional as well as upper management. Great benefits, pay, job autonomy.

    Cons

somewhat fragmented communication between departments, some in-efficient use of time due to too many meetings. Also going through a merger.

    Advice to Management

    schedule less meetings.

    Pros

Management is respective, fair...allows plenty of vacation and time to attend drs appt etc..they are very flexible regarding family matters.

    Cons

No IT support is offered on site, all virtual help desk, training is all online, there is not a designated training department to tech hands on. It all look it up yourself..expected to be an expert, jack of all trades without the proper training.

    Advice to Management

Offer a designated trainer to assist employees at the Branch level...there are to many moving pieces for a employee entrenced in accounts to train them self, or to take a online course for 2 hours and to then be a SME. Their isn't someone to circle back with for further assistance..

    Pros

Competitive salaries and benefits; exposure to evolving communications technologies; a large variety of opportunities for professional growth and expansion of technical expertise; work with smart, dedicated group of people.

    Cons

Constant cost cutting resulting from large exposure to declining "land line" business; little opportunity for advancement; also, the currently planned merger with CenturyLink is creating quite a bit of uncertainty about the length of time one might stay employed.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work you've done so far. Don't lose sight of shareholder value in your push to earn your merger payouts.

    Pros

Competitive salary, flexible work schedule, work from home occasionally, good benefits, great vacation and holidays off, great work / life balance, great camaraderie with colleagues within the team and across different departments, trustful managers and directors. The company paid for me to relocate, they paid for my PMP certification, offered training courses that I took advantage of and have supported my career goals.

    Cons

Lots of red tape and sometimes focused on projects that were more politically motivated than revenue motivated. With the recent layoffs occurring across the company due to the merger with CenturyLink, there has not been a good transition put in place to ensure that gaps and fallouts don't become an issue, negatively impacting the quality and customer experience. Sometimes upper management wants to do too much in a short amount of time in a dept that is understaffed (because of the layoffs and natural attrition) and this causes too confusion and a lot of inefficiencies.

    Advice to Management

Thank you Qwest employees for the past 11.5 years. It was a great ride and I am indebted to you.

    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

Embarq was a great place to work. The people were wonderful. Leadership (except for the CEO) was top notch.

    Cons

The CEO and BOD sold out the employees to CenturyLink. CL culture was a sweat-shop where employees are not valued.

    Pros

A very lax, open work environment; casual atmosphere with respectful management; plenty of room for advancement with a very promotion-from-within corporate ladder

    Cons

Compensation could be a bit better for the type of work being done; the company isn't always the fastest in dealing with personnel management (it took me nearly two months to get hired on officially, having worked there for half a year)
