I have been working at Cerami & Associates full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Smaller tight-knit teams, but also a broader sense of community. Regular education sessions for staff at all levels to improve their knowledge and skills. An upper management that leads by example. The firm consistently and reliably puts out work that I am proud to have my name linked to. A highly above average level of passion -- nobody just stumbles into a job in Acoustical Engineering, and there is a certain camaraderie...

    Cons

The "sense of community" can lead to implicit expectations for working extra hard before a deadline, but I wouldn't say there is a destructive level of crunch. Weekends, off-time, and vacations are greatly respected, but with this comes an expectation to work very regular hours.

    I worked at Cerami & Associates full-time

    Pros

Young and dynamic team Fun office events

    Cons

It's a revolving door. When I left, about 2-3 people were living every month. It was depressing

    Advice to Management

Promote growth within the company. A lot of great people but management just sits on their high horses and do nothing. Also the environment can be stressful with working late to meet deadlines.

I worked at Cerami & Associates full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

You learn a lot, the firm has a good reputation so you get to work on notable projects, and are compensated very well.

    Cons

There is no work/life balance, constantly changing priorities and goals, and poor communication.

    Advice to Management

Do what you say, set a plan and follow it, and when an employee is having an issue actually care about it rather then hope it goes away.

I have been working at Cerami & Associates full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

    - It’s a great company to enter the industry with and with them being in business for 50+ years other companies will pay top dollar once you leave - the CEO is very friendly and down to earth from the most part

    Cons

    - Upper management sucks and a lot of them don’t respect employees below them - project managers don’t communicate well - people are stuck up and rude there - be prepared to work very long hours and now be rewarded or even acknowledged for your hard work and dedication - my first year there 26 people left the company don’t be alarmed or scared for that is a regular occurrence at this phone

    Advice to Management

HR needs to be present and build a proper relationship with the employees because they’re a lot of unhappy campers wait to jump ship

I worked at Cerami & Associates

    Pros

Great benefits if you are willing to trade your sanity for them. There are a few good people but not enough to make up for the difference...

    Cons

Horrible management, no direction, everyone believes to be someone’s boss, people will smile and cheer you on until you walk away and then they stab you in the back, you don’t have to work or actually do a good job as long as you constantly say you work too hard and do an excellent job It will suffice for you to get credit while the ones that actually do work hard keep getting blamed for the shortcomings of the ones that...

    Advice to Management

Don’t just claim to want this to be the best place to work in NY, but rather actually try to do that. Get rid of the non performers and the disrespectful staff and the work environment shall improve tremendously just from that alone!
