I have been working at Ceridian full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Covered parking, Deli on Site, generous vacation package

    Cons

Overworked, underpaid, under appreciated, no room for advancement, no training

    Advice to Management

The management of Ceridin, especially in the payroll area need to self evaluate themselves and their ways of thinking. They push us to perform and excel, and yet they do not give proper or adequate training where needed. Then if you go to them for help or assistance, they give you the bare minimum in return if anything at all. The managers do nothing to help their staff excel in their roles. They have no training classes for new hires and push the newbies onto their already overworked peers to train but there is no standard in which the department or teams are run because there is no training so everyone does everything different or wrong and it just gets passes on. To say that poop flows downhill here in the statement of the day. The want a balanced home/work life, but if you work here, you will end up working most days late and sometimes even during weekends and holidays. They won't even ask if you have plans during 'paid work holidays' they will force you to work even though the company is closed because of upper management poor planning. The company has promoted themselves as having a certain number of CPP payroll employees on hand and so they are now forcing everyone to get their certification so they are not viewed as liars, however if/when you do get it, there no increase in salary for you, whereas with CPP you can go work for other payroll companies and make at least 10k more a year salary minimum. Their merit increases are also a joke.

I have been working at Ceridian full-time

    Pros

Being able to work from home most of the time is good. You'll need it for the long hours you'll be working. Pay is better than competitors.

    Cons

When I interviewed for this job all I heard about was how good the culture was. When I actually started the job I realized it was all smoke and mirrors(find this review below). A lot of my coworkers did not want to share information. Some of them even tried to get me to do their work for them. When I ran into issues when helping that coworker they were no where to be found. It was my responsibility now. My "mentor" barely engaged me and barely seemed to know what he was doing himself. Managers will drop new assignments on you without so much as a heads up and won't consider the work you already have on your plate. They will praise DayForce like it is the best thing ever but it's only average. Yes, it is pretty cool that the system is fully integrated, however, it is buggy as hell. Although it is highly configurable(not customizable) it still lacks functionality that you would think should be there. The reason it is not there is because there is no relationship between the developers of the system and the implementation team.

I've been with Ceridian for about a year and have heard of at least 15 people leaving the implementation team within that time span.

If you are interviewing to implement the recruiting module do yourself a favor and run. The recruiting module is basic but they sell it like it's the best ever.

All in all, Ceridian is going for the money grab. Their product is hot right now and they are doing everything possible to make as much money as they can. The sad thing is that clients see this.

    Advice to Management

Slow down and focus on building something properly instead of running your employees into the ground.

I worked at Ceridian full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The people. The camaraderie. Used to be a great place for a career. I will say they have very good benefits. Pay could be better but great benefits.

    Cons

Sold all the products that founded the company. Got out of the benefits industry and is putting all their eggs in one basket. Upper management is pathetic. In a few more years it will no longer be Ceridian but Dayforce. No work life balance even though they tell you otherwise.

    Advice to Management

It is too late to get a clue. Unfortunate.

I have been working at Ceridian full-time

    Pros

Pleasant Atmosphere, laid back, a lot of things happen here that would be HR violations at any other company.

    Cons

Favortism, morale problem. No consistency among teams or offices. Different rules for different teams. I bet David Ossip's would love to know the real deal. Arrogant leadership. The climate comes from the top down. Practice some humility.

    Advice to Management

Consistency is key all around. With the rules among employees as well as how to service customers. You have some real rotten scoundrels at the top especially in Canada and the Atlanta office.
