Many Lay Offs

Average company. Nothing stands out.
Cons
Average pay. Lack of management direction. They crow about work life balance but it's only average and it sucks in November-December-January. More focused on profit than customer well-being. There are always massive layoffs at the end of every year. Happy Holidays!

Great place to work
Jun 4, 2019 - Customer Support Specialist in Montreal, QCRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Ceridian is a wonderful company to work for. Over the years they have taken great pride to make sure that it's employees have a balance between their work life and their home life. As a working mom, this makes me able to focus fully on my job without worries. It is a company that focuses on team work, on customer satisfaction and on delivering services and products that are top notch. Ceridian is a growing company, that is constantly trying to better itself while always making sure its employees and customers are happy and well cared for. There are many opportunities, as an employee, to grow within the company.
Cons
I really do not see any downsides!

Great company to work for; employees are treated fair, great time-off program and fun events at each location. Senior leadership is easy to talk too and listens to what the employees have to say. Developing great products and staying on top of newest technology within the industry.
Cons
Work/life balance can be an issue in some areas; offer virtual where it makes sense and this can then be a positive very quickly.

Jul 26, 2021 - Software Developer Senior in SydneyRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Good people, supportive and caring environment. Excellent culture and investment in staff. Despite large amounts of work there is a focus on encouraging staff to find a work life balance.
Cons
High scale of work both active and roadmapped for future, but this is typical of software companies.

The Benefits are excellent, time off is excellent, 9/80 work schedule. Management tends to be very understanding when you are trying to balance work & life. Co-workers are great, most have been there for years (simply because they haven't done any new hiring in years).
Cons
Overseas outsourcing, senior management is awful, too many products. The re-organizing managment happens on a yearly basis. New executive managements comes in a promises the same thing old management, but nothing ever happens. Constantly cutting costs by cutting the staff - it's never management.

The positive atmosphere starts at the very top with leadership. The flexible hours and promotion of work/life balance optimizes me for success and motivates me to do my best and give my all.
Cons
What cons? I don't see any cons. I'm being 100% honest. They are people and culture first and business second which leaves me with no negative judgement whatsoever. Speaking from the heart, if there were cons, I would list them

Can’t pay staff on time and lack of communication

Good work life balance internationally but push from Australian management to get people back to office.
Cons
For the second time in 6 months pay goes in a day late and absolutely no communication until half way through the day.

Good overall corporate culture but some departments are brutal
Sep 15, 2020 - Applications EngineerRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
In general Ceridan has a great work life balance and can be a very fun place to work. The employees are great and most teams are made up of people who are very engaged in the success of those around them.
Cons
Some departments, in particular technology, reorganizes semiannually and in the process fires good people with no cause instead of retraining/retooling them. Never count on your job at Ceridian lasting past the next departmental reorganization. Whether you've been there six month or 16 years they will drop you on a Monday, after working the weekend and not even pay you out to the end of the week. Pay is a bit low for the marketplace but not terrible so, and is more than offset by the companies work/life balance.

Ceridian - Many opportunities
Jun 29, 2016 - Senior Business Systems AnalystRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
The best reason to work at Ceridian is the availability to work in multiple departments to get a flavor of every aspect of the company. I have also worked virtually for the past few years which helps with work life balance.
Cons
Not enough women in upper management positions.
