I have been working at Cerner full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The culture is built around disrupting the status quo in efforts to achieve excellence. I have found a great place to put my problem solving skills to work while making a difference for our clients. In my role, I get to touch the hardware, the product and interact with the client on a weekly basis. CernerWorks is the place to be.

    Cons

Hiring hasn't been a focus in past years and there are some less effective associates in roles. The work schedule isn't always in balance.

    Advice to Management

Keep the focus on excellence and the employee experience.

I have been working at Cerner full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Innovative, culture, flexibility, Thinks outside the box and brings ideas ahead of their time for the population.

    Cons

Internal organizations can be silo and act for themselves. Millennial environment that doesn't work for quality but quantity. Lack of effective internal finance/operations systems for a software company.

    Advice to Management

Seek talented management from outside Cerner instead of always hiring internally. There's not a good development/mentor management program.

I have been working at Cerner full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I've been working at Cerner almost 2 years and have loved it. The work in health care is inspiring, and the amount of time and energy they put into developing associates is fantastic. Not only do you have amazing career opportunities and room for growth, but there also benefits like a gym, doctors office, pharmacy, and cafeteria all at work.

    Cons

The work-life balance can be a little stressful at times, but as long as communicated with your manager, it's definitely manageable!

    Advice to Management

Make sure you take time to develop your associates and really make sure they know you want to see them succeed.
