    Pros

Young energetic environment that moves quickly and forces to change and adapt quickly. You grow as a professional very quickly and make lasting friendships in the process.

    Cons

You don't get paid a well considering the work you are asked to do.

    Advice to Management

Pay people more if you want to solve your attrition issue.

I have been working at Cerner full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You never have to bring work home, once you are out of the building your work day is done. Easy hours as I work an earlier shift my days are done at 3PM. Co-Workers are excellent. I never truly enjoyed working with the majority of the colleagues.

    Cons

With this position I feel like a secretary at times taking calls and transferring. Higher call volumes, but that is expected being a support line. You're at the bottom of the totem pole.

    Advice to Management

Communicate with associates more. Other leads communicate to their teams better than others. Don't rush training to fill phone spots.

I have been working at Cerner full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Onsite Cafeteria, gym, coffee bar, and free parking.

    Cons

    Way too many managers/leads/etc
Way too much of "not my solution = not my problem" mentality
Experience/skills gleaned from prior employment isn't taken into account and/or used
Advancement is based off of tenure rather than experience/skills

    Advice to Management

Seen some great leaders reduced to the same level as college individuals with zero experience...

I worked at Cerner full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Good benefits
    - Cultural emphasis on health
    - I've had three managers while working there, and all but two were excellent. The third was new and inexperienced
    - Located in Kansas City, MO, which is smack dab in the center of the US, which can be good or bad, depending on your situation

    Cons

    - Long hours
    - Depending on your role, can be monotonous and boring, but then again, what do you expect working for a tech company?
    - Pay seems a bit on the low end compared to other, similar companies
    - There's a lot of big egos, but then again, this is corporate...

    Advice to Management

The gym was packed in the evenings, so it could use expansion. Hire more employees to help reduce workload on existing employees, and create a healthier work/life balance.

I have been working at Cerner full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

There are a ton of opportunities to improve professional skills and credentials. Cerner offers so many courses to it's associates and will even pay for professional credentials such as PMP certifications. There is always room for professional growth. If you are willing to work hard, you will be rewarded.

    Cons

Associates are often asked and expected to work a lot of hours. Within the Consulting organization associates travel a lot. It can be hard on a family when you are traveling so much.

    Advice to Management

The process to change roles can be lengthy and frustrating especially for associates who have been with the company for a number of years. I feel like it has been really difficult to get released from my current role due to resourcing constraints.
