I have been working at Certegy Check Services full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    -Good working enviroment
-Overtime for those who want it

    Cons

    -Management is disorganized
-Training doesn't prepare you for the job
-Don't expect to get far in this dept

    Advice to Management

An overhaul of how training is done is must. Also the way decisions are made are inconsistant and sometimes seems arbitrary

    Pros

The Co-Workers other then that there is nothing else good about the job.

    Cons

i would not recommend working for this company unless you have tough skin. You deal with customer constantly angry because they checks were declined. Besides the calm customer you get every once in a while that wants an increase in their cashline limit, its an angry customer every call. Not worth the time, stress or pay.

    Advice to Management

    Care more about your employees.

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at Certegy Check Services full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Lots of hours if you want them.

    Cons

Management is horrible. They choose to go by the handbook only when it suits them, and when it doesn't, they ignore it. Exceptions are made for some but not others. HR fires anyone that schedules a meeting with them.

    Advice to Management

    Read the handbook.

I have been working at Certegy Check Services full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Workers were nice but constrained.

    Cons

Good ol' boys ran mgmnt. There's a lot of finger pointing and blame always seems to land on the person at the bottom who was usually just following bad information provided by the managers.

    Advice to Management

Trust your workers and break up the good ol' boys network.

    Cons

Poor communications with all levels of management
    Poor training and encouragement
    Few opportunities for advancement
Ridiculous low salaries increases if any
    Stressful job conditions

    Pros

Certegy is a great job for part time workers, summer employment, holiday employment, and college students. It's a place to gain better phone skills. It's very EASY.

    Cons

There is not a lot of growth potential. Do not work here if you are looking for a career. The raises are abominable.

    Advice to Management

Find a way to motivate employees and turnover will improve.

    Pros

I can't find any good reasons.

    Cons

All of them. The skills you learn are not transferable, meaning, if you get laid off, you won't find a job.

    Advice to Management

Promote people with degrees and drive to success not people who worked in the company for the longest time. You have directors and AVP positions completely unnecessary and irrelevant because they don't do their jobs.
