I have been working at Certiport Inc. full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Every summer there is a worldwide competition on Microsoft Office and Adobe - seeing the lives that have changed because of certifications makes all the day to day challenges bearable.

    Cons

Certiport was acquired by Pearson and became a business unit of Pearson VUE. The transition has been long and drawn out.

    Advice to Management

    Invest more in your employees

I have been working at Certiport Inc. full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The people are generally pretty solid, especially the regular employees. There are good managers (marketing and sales in particular), but the VP of Operations and the VP of Development are very much in over their heads. But the front-line managers are generally good, solid people

    Cons

The benefits are pricey, and the culture sucks. We used to have a significant employee budget, but that has gone to the dogs.

    Advice to Management

Give us back our culture! We had a great culture before Pearson bought us.

I have been working at Certiport Inc. full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Although the company is stilled known as Certiport, it was acquired by Pearson Vue. Pearson takes good care of its employees. Many employees of Pearson will stick around for many years. Certiport has been a positive place to work at. Everyone is really nice and understanding.

    Cons

Some of the leadership decisions are questionable, but it can't be too far off from most average companies.

    Pros

    Great boss
    Rewarding industry
Feel like we are offering a product that makes a difference

    Cons

Pearson owns us and it is a large company with more red tape than we are used too. We are the middle man between the client and the end user.

    Advice to Management

Expand product offerings. Update technology and automation .

I have been working at Certiport Inc. full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great leadership, great products and a great place to work. Since the arrival on the new CEO in 2009 Certiport has developed a very positive atmosphere. He has brought in a lot of new people and done a great job of turning the company around. He came in, set a vision and executed it well. The products are great to sell and they make a difference to the people who use them.

    Cons

Certiport recently sold to a bigger company and they've promised to run it independently. Only time will tell whether the new company can continue to get the best out its people

    Advice to Management

I've had a chance to do a couple of jobs in my few years here and its good to see people being given a chance to develop and promoted from within

    Pros

It's a positive work environment with good people. They are moving in the right direction from a technology viewpoint by updating their processes. They offer flexible work schedules and locations.

    Cons

They are using older technologies and tools. Like many companies, they are often short on human resources.

    Advice to Management

Kirby seems to be moving the technology department in the right direction.
