    Negative Outlook

I worked at Chamberlain University full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Benefits, raises, 1 outing a year, nice people to work with. That is pretty much. All the pros. I do not have much more to say.

    Cons

Students are rude and nasty, quality assurance always tries to find something wrong with the calls. Potlucks are fake they make you "enjoy" that with your not ready time. The way that they track productivity is with not ready time. You have 6 minutes a hour to use the bathroom. Good luck. The supervisors are rude they treat you like a slave. The managers even give you their work too. You will have to take care of... financial academics and counseling in one call. One call resolution. If it's not resolved you will be in trouble. They also fire people without a notice.

I worked at Chamberlain University full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Decent Pay Paid Holidays There are no other pros for this position.

    Cons

Call Center Impossible Metrics Poor Management No Accountability Lack of training Overworked Colleagues

    Advice to Management

The position as a Student Services Advisor sounds great until you get in the door. This job is a call center where you speak with rude and sometimes irate students about financial aid, course scheduling, etc. The training is lacking. You get 6 weeks of training and learn absolutely nothing that pertains to the job. Management is only concerned with your metrics. You could be an awesome worker but if your numbers... don't meet the company "standard" you will be micromanaged like a child. Management is the worst. They never do what they say they will do. If you don't kiss their butts, you will go nowhere. They aren't looking for caring advisors, they are looking for robots who do as they are told. BEWARE!!! STAY FAR, FAR AWAY FROM THIS JOB. People who work there are sick and tired and looking for another job. They claim to C.A.R.E. about you but they don't. Managers will hang you out to dry and lie on you with ease. Devry/Chamberlain is a joke. Take my advice and don't bother applying.

I have been working at Chamberlain University full-time

    Pros

Flex time, you get to work from home 3 days a week.

    Cons

No room for advancement. Promotions come from a board that does not know you, never worked with you, don't know in depth what your position does, and it number driven. Company is extremely competitive, and you have to kiss your managers butt to be considered to be sent for a promotion.

I have been working at Chamberlain University full-time for more than a year

    Pros

A perfect place for young talent to develop leadership skills. Benefits are amazing and your colleagues are the highlight of the day. They provide flexible work hours and the opportunity to work from home. Everyone from senior management downward are very positive and if you take your job seriously and put forth a good effort will work with you on building your career. A positive attitude is definitely a sure fire... way for people to realize your potential.

    Cons

Be prepared to have multiple quality assessments in a month. It can be a little unnerving because it can be back - to - back reviews of your calls. It can get very monotonous as it is a call center so there isn't a lot of creativity or higher level thinking required.

    Advice to Management

My management team members are amazing! Very supportive and encouraging.
