I have been working at Changi Airport full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Good staff benefits (i.e. Flexi benefits, airport staff discount, good bonus) Good exposure to wide-ranging roles in airport management Collaborative - people are generally very willing to help and answer any queries or direct you to someone who can help CEO is a truly People's Leader - he is sincere about caring and it shows in everything that he does. T5 is coming up in around 10 yrs, there will be many... opportunities to grow with the company. The company values its people and recognizes that the people are its greatest asset. Hence, it puts in quite a lot of effort to engage and reward its staff well.

    Cons

CAG being the airport operator is governed strongly by CAAS (airport authority) and other authorities like APD (Airport Police Division). Hence, there is a need to balance the many needs of the passengers together with that of the internal stakeholders and the external authorities. These 3 do not always align and sometimes it can be really tough to cut through all the red tape and get the things done. Large... organization filled with quite capable people also means it can be quite tough to stand out and be promoted/recognized quickly. People generally work quite hard and some departments like those related to operations can work quite late everyday. There are quite a lot of meetings as people prefer meeting face to face to thrash things out. Not every meeting is productive.

    Advice to Management

Continue to reduce red-tape where applicable and continue to be open to staff feedback and disruptive ways & technologies so that we can continue to be the Best Airport in the world.

I have been working at Changi Airport full-time

    Pros

    1. Great place to start especially if you are a fresh graduate from a local university. 2. Good exposure to many different business units 3. CEO is energetic and willing to try new business ideas

    Cons

    1. Senior management does not have clear directions and unwilling to try different business ideas 2. Too much red tape 3. Politics 4. Slow progression

    Advice to Management

Do what you preach - how do you expect to change the organization when the top leaders have been here since the start of their career and haven't had the chance to explore what it's like working in an external organization?

I worked at Changi Airport full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    - Stable income/ salary, good bonus - Prestige company. - Able to learn and excel in certain departments - Exclusive working experience especially for projects-based - Clean and world-class environment to work in.

    Cons

    - Middle-level managers (roles of Reporting Officers) do not posses the Leadership DNA skills to set a good example for their subordinates. - Management is not very supportive of their own team mates. - Not cooperative, no team-work - Low EQ of the middle-level managers. - Poor time management - Majority of the meetings will over-run the scheduled time. - Out of agenda topics during majority of the meetings.... - Micro-manage from the management, i.e. word by word going through slides and reports. - There is no sharing of information (non-confidential) in some of the teams. - Middle-managers delegate all the work to their subordinates and went coffee-break/ chit-chat session themselves. - Not work-orientated cluster to work in. - Not recommended to young people who wants to strive in cooperate world.

    Cons

Stifling management Some managers suffer from micromanagement syndrome poor IT support Tonnes and tonnes of red tape and paperwork... Had to jump through hoops to get things done... Extremely inefficient Office politics quite rampant in certain divisions

    Advice to Management
