    I worked at Changi Airport

    Pros

Good pay if you can wait for the bonuses.

    Cons

    Lots of red tapes, politics.

    Advice to Management

Be fair to people from private universities. Many are complaining, and if you dont do something about it they will leave. A lot of them are great talents but do not have the same opportunities to shine even though outwardly you keep emphasising that it is fair play.

I have been working at Changi Airport full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Quite vibrant. Not too bad bonus.

    Cons

Airport operations work is insane and can be inhumane. Staff are always expected to be down even on shift hours. No respect for worklife balance at all. Very political and lots of red tape Central to values of company is integrity but it doesn't happen

    Advice to Management

Make decisions and not blame staff for not executing when snr management can't make decisions Snr management especially in airport operations are very weak and not strategic. Very old school and unable to be innovative Too much red tape and snr mgmt is political

I have been working at Changi Airport full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Good staff benefits (i.e. Flexi benefits, airport staff discount, good bonus) Good exposure to wide-ranging roles in airport management Collaborative - people are generally very willing to help and answer any queries or direct you to someone who can help CEO is a truly People's Leader - he is sincere about caring and it shows in everything that he does. T5 is coming up in around 10 yrs, there will be many... opportunities to grow with the company. The company values its people and recognizes that the people are its greatest asset. Hence, it puts in quite a lot of effort to engage and reward its staff well.

    Cons

CAG being the airport operator is governed strongly by CAAS (airport authority) and other authorities like APD (Airport Police Division). Hence, there is a need to balance the many needs of the passengers together with that of the internal stakeholders and the external authorities. These 3 do not always align and sometimes it can be really tough to cut through all the red tape and get the things done. Large... organization filled with quite capable people also means it can be quite tough to stand out and be promoted/recognized quickly. People generally work quite hard and some departments like those related to operations can work quite late everyday. There are quite a lot of meetings as people prefer meeting face to face to thrash things out. Not every meeting is productive.

    Advice to Management

Continue to reduce red-tape where applicable and continue to be open to staff feedback and disruptive ways & technologies so that we can continue to be the Best Airport in the world.

    1. Great place to start especially if you are a fresh graduate from a local university. 2. Good exposure to many different business units 3. CEO is energetic and willing to try new business ideas

    Advice to Management

Do what you preach - how do you expect to change the organization when the top leaders have been here since the start of their career and haven't had the chance to explore what it's like working in an external organization?
