    Terrible pay and bullying

    Pros

It's a very diverse place to work

    Cons

Not very good pay compared to other companies in the industry. On top of low pay they expect you to do work outside of your pay grade whilst promising a pay rise that never happens.. Also HR allowed my manager to bully me out of the company.

    Pros

Nice people in other departments / social aspect is good.

    Cons

My experience in this particular department wasn’t great. You are constantly being micro managed and there is a bad feeling within the team. High turn over of staff because of this “Manager.” Everyone I’ve spoken to has left because of the manager. Didn’t feel comfortable speaking to HR as this manager was friendly with them. Better of leaving as they look after managers only here.

Ingesting digital and physical assets, archiving projects and the occasional promo cutting.

    Pros

Excellent experience into the promo team of Channel 5. A welcoming, chilled-out office environment with plenty of opportunities including cutting promos for air. Lots of trust is given to the intern such as server management and archiving. You are in the same office with other interns too which means you can meet like-minded people at similar ages/career levels.

    Cons

Some of the tasks are quite repetitive. Rarely touch a camera while working here.

    Pros

    It is a full-time job

    Cons

Antiquated systems, Victorian-workhouse management thinking, appalling training, review and employee development schemes, silo'd departments that barely talk to each other, zero diversity, low morale, blame culture, weak oversight, shocking bigotry in unminute'd and unagenda'd meetings

Fun place to work that's going from strength to strength

    Pros

I worked at C5 for 7 years, and at almost every point in that time, the company was ambitiously chasing industry leaders. It feels good working for an underdog that was fighting for it's place in the industry. As a result, there are talented and ambitious people at every level, in every department. This cultivates a really energy and aspirational work environment. The were plenty of opportunities to get stuck into to a large variety of work. I was always encouraged to throw my ideas into the ring, and often they were followed by the support and resources needed to actually bring them to fruition, even if it wasn't technically part of my normal job. No one took themselves or their jobs too seriously, at least not all the time. Everyone was aware of the importance of a work/life balance, and rarely did projects become unhealthy. The highest levels of management are completely approachable, and actively encourage people to engage with them. The quality of work has, on the whole, improved vastly. When left alone, colleges become real families, there is a great sense of belonging on a team level. It seems to attract a really high quality calibre of people. You will meet some friends for life.

    Cons

Progression is tough, as teams are small and people stay in their jobs for a long time. Viacom are keen on touting their schemes for training and progression, but it rarely comes to fruition. Expect a good job with good people, but it's not a place to stay for a long time.
