I worked at Chardan Capital Markets as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

You work with a senior person and learn his business, depending on your placement. Good exposure to financial services. Good opportunity to network, and if you prove you're a hard worker, sponsorship for security licenses.

    Cons

Your internship may be unpaid depending on your function. However, I believe the opportunity to sit at the desk makes up for any compensation you won't get at this firm.

    Advice to Management

Rather than only allowing to get exposure, give us problems to solve and see what we can do.

I worked at Chardan Capital Markets as an intern

    Pros

Beautiful office, location, people are usually kind

    Cons

For an unpaid internship I was very uncomfortable with the kind of work they were giving me. As a college student, I don't have time to be doing completely ridiculous work for free especially if i learn absolutely NOTHING from it. I left a different unpaid internship for this one because I thought this company seemed like it would provide good opportunities to learn, network, etc. I immediately regretted this once I moved into Chardan. If an internship isn't paying you at the very least the intern needs to be learning and be comfortable in the setting.

    Advice to Management

Have a structured intern program and give them meaningful work. Not degrading work.

I worked at Chardan Capital Markets as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Collegiate environment and close knit employees. From what I gather, fair commission payout if you can hold your own weight, for sales traders who are 100% self-sustaining. Overall, you may return to school with "stories" to tell your classmates.

    Cons

No base, no benefits, questionable in-house products, needs to stay relevant to market trends and conditions, lacks brand and strategy, not a place to develop a career, lacks training resources- I learned only from traders who slightly cared to give me meaningful work.

    Advice to Management

    Develop presence in other products.
